"The Barbarian Call : High-Risk Venture"

Have you ever really read thru Hebrews Chapter 11. Its called the " hall of fame " where you will read of many early believers who did amazing things for God. The men and women listed in Hebrews 11 are there because their lives were so extraordinary, and their results so unusual. God worked that way back then and still does for us today. In fact God is just getting started , He has far deeper and more profound work for us believers to do today. All of the early followers of Christ chose and walked the Barbarian Way, and they were blessed because they did not fall away on account of Jesus. They trusted Jesus with their lives, and many of them lost their lives on the journey. If we could interview any of these early Christ followers, each would insist that even in the midst of their suffering and hardship, they were the most fully alive.  They were not disappointed in God because they did not misunderstand who He was. They understood His call in their lives, an! d they chose it willing. Some of the early believers would survive the night in the lion's den, others would experience their darkest night and wake up in eternity

We too , now living today must find the Barbarian Way out of civilization. How have we come to this sanitized view of the Christian faith to which Jesus calls us to. Somewhere along the way the movement of Jesus Christ became civilized as Christianity. We have created a religion using the name of Jesus Christ and convinced ourselves that God's optimal desire for our lives was to insulate us in a spiritual bubble where we risk nothing, lose nothing, worrying about nothing. Jesus came to liberate us so that we could die up front and then live. Jesus Christ wants to take us to places where only dead men and women can go

The orginal call of Jesus was so simple, so clean, so clear : "follow me " . He wants us to surrender our lives to Him and follow Him into the unknown. And if it means a life of suffering, hardship, and disappointment, it will be worth it because following Jesus Christ is more powerful and more fulfilling that living with everything in the world minus Him. Have we forgotten this ? Have we become so refined and so civilized that the benefits of our faith have become more precious and more valuable to us then the Benefactor of our Faith ? God is asking us today - " are you willing to lose everything on My behalf to gain everything I desire for you ? Rather than living a long life, are you willing to live a life worth living ?

The world we live in today cannot wait for us to choose the safe path to share Jesus with the lost. If we wait for someone else to take the risk, we risk that no one will ever act and that nothing will ever be accomplished for our Lord and Savior's Kingdom. Jesus is calling you to leave your comfort zone and risk all you have for His Salvation Message. Just do whatever Jesus calls you to do the moment it is clear to you. I will warn you , the closer you walk with Christ, the greater the faith required. The more you trust Him, the more you'll risk on His behalf. The more you love Him, the more you will love others . If you genuinely embrace His sacrifice, you will joyfully embrace a sacrifical life. Your expectations of Jesus will change as your intimacy with Him deepens. Listen closely, that is the voice of Jesus calling to you. And if you listen long enough, you will hear Him calling you to the only servant life that will fulfill your deepest longings, and that is! the Barbarian Way !!!
