Dear sister Ellen,God bless you sister. I have observed your ongoing argument over the three days and three nights. Some of these "Christians" who are so proud that they know it all, have gullibly swallowed the old Catholic-Babylonian hogwash about Christ crucified on Friday and raised on the Sabbath, and how that part of a day counts as a whole day.Sister, they are dead wrong. Just stand your ground and hang on to the truth. The Lord Jesus Himself clearly stated that He would be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights, and that is exactly what He meant, and that is exactly what happened. There is not a shred of Biblical evidence that Christ was crucified on Friday. Anyone with any spiritual sense above a duck can calculate directly from the Scriptures the events of the final week leading up to the crucifixion of Christ, and the very day of the week on which each recorded event occurred. Those who can't do this are very shallow Bible students, in spite of their boasted knowledge of the Scriptures. The Scriptural truth is that Christ was crucified on Wednesday. I studied this out years ago and can give book, chapter, and verse for every day of the week leading up to Christ being crucified on Wednesday. His body was placed in the tomb by or before 6 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon. On the Jewish calendar a new day begins at 6:01 p.m. Christ was then in the grave Thursday night, Thursday day, Friday night, Friday day, Saturday night, Saturday day, and at 6 p.m. on Saturday exactly as the Sabbath was ending and the first day of the week [Sunday] was beginning, the Lord arose from the grave. That was a total of 72 hours, just exactly as the Lord Himself had prophesied in Matthew 12:40.Sister, do you have a Greek New Testament [like Dr. Berry's Interlinear or the Hendrickson Interlinear]? If you do, look at Matthew 12:39-41, starting in verse 39 with the words of the Lord Himself as He said, ".....An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonah: For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. The men of Nineveh shall rise in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and, behold, a greater than Jonah is here." Sister, how many hours are there in three days and three nights? 72 hours! And in this statement in the Greek text Christ used exactly 72 Greek words to make the statement. Coincidence? When donkey's fly! Some of your critics would do well to study more and espouse less. They don't know as much about God's Word as some of them think they do. These people that are so certain and so dogmatic about everything in God's Word could really use a good dose of true humility. That old Friday crucifixion theory came right straight from the old Roman whore false religious system. Those that are true believers should be ashamed for teaching such garbage.God bless you. Hang in there, dear sister. The Lord will bless you for taking His Word literally for what it actually says and teaches. The Lord always verifies His truth if people are willing to seriously study the Scriptures.Pastor F. M. Riley
