I wrote this post March 28, 2006 when the DaVinci Codes was all the news. However, I never sent it, but just found it in my drafts folder. It seems a bit appropriate now after the Rapture watch weekend has passed and many are feeling discouraged. I am still looking forward to November 11, 2006 as a much more likely date. After all, Jesus gave us a big clue about the "Days of Noah". He did not mention the "days of feasts", which seem to be primarily for Israel.

 

    It occurred to me that with all the interest in the DaVinci Codes and "royal bloodlines", that this is probably leading to the AC coming upon the scene publicly very soon. We know the "royal bloodline" is pure fiction, but those who are ignorant, some of them willingly so, will believe it and accept the man who has this "royal bloodline". Scripture tells us this will be: Jesus said in John 5:41-43 "I receive not honour from men. But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. " It will not matter to them that it is not the truth as they will willingly believe a lie, which could be the "great deception" that the Lord is sending them. I will not be surprised to see a DNA test done on the Shroud of Turin, and that the results will show Prince Charles has the same DNA, which will be further "proof", however that will really be just another lie, as the Shroud could not have been that of Jesus, but that was already discussed in previous posts.

    It is interesting that Jesus made these statements right after He healed the man  who had been ill for 38 years at the pool of Bethesda. Last year we were looking for the Lord to come then, based upon this incident being a parallel of Israel, wandering in the wilderness for 38 years, and it being 38 years since the recapture of Jerusalem. Many of us were puzzled that nothing happened then, as other healing miracles of Jesus also seemed to point to the soon arrival of the Lord. As I was meditating this morning and asking the Lord to show me the truth about these things, I was reminded that there have been many "markers" along the way to show us where we are on the road to "passing over" the Jordan into the Promised Land. Just as we are accustomed to seeing mile markers on a highway to indicate where we are, and a hiker relies upon blazes, which are markers upon trees to indicate the trail, we are also being given markers by the Lord to indicate where we are and which way we are going, and how far we are from the end of the road.

    Often we watchers get very excited as we see more clues that indicate we are not far from the end of our destination. Then the time passes and we may become discouraged, some may even depart from among us. But often we are renewed by seeing a new marker, an indicator of where we are, that we are not on the wrong track. Paul seemed to be saying the same thing in1 Cor 9:24-25 "Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible."

   Also the entire chapter of Hebrews 12 seems to be speaking about this. Verses 1-3 say "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds." 

    Rather than these markers being false signs by "date-setters", as some of those critical of us say, they are signs of encouragement to keep us on the trail, to show us where we are. Keep looking up, we are not far from the end of our journey!
