Does the Hebrew word #7162 "qeren" for "horn" and "horns" help identify where the the little "horn" and the ten "horns" or kings may possibly come from who are found in Daniel 7:7-8 & 24?
Notice the spelling similarities below between the Hebrew words "qeren" & "qaran" and the Arabic word for the "Qaran" which can also be spelled "Koran."
In Strong's Concordance's, Hebrew word #7162 "qeren" - corresp. to "qeren" #7161; a horn. Hebrew word #7161 "qeren"; from #7160 "; a horn (as projecting). Hebrew word #7160 "qaran" - to push or gore; used only as denom. from 7161, to shoot out horns; fig. rays: have horns, shine. There are also several other meanings to the Hebrew word #7161 which include a peak (of mountain), a ray (of light); fig. power: - hill, horn.
Below are the meanings I found for the Hebrew words "qeran" & "qaran," and for the Arabic words "Qaran" or "Koran" with their corresponding website link.
Qeren (Hebrew) [from qaran to emit rays, shine, have horns; power, strength, might] A horn, a vessel made of horn; a musical instrument; a ray, beam, flash, so that the deities represented with horns -- such as Ashtoreth or Astarte -- might also be associated with rays or beams of light. The Greek god Pan was always depicted with horns, as were several Egyptian deities, while the Atef-crown uses the horns as a symbol of strength and power. Moses, too, was often depicted with horns.
Name of Islamic Bible (Qaran or Koran)Etymology: "From a primitive ancient semitic root qara developing in Arabic to Qaran, Quran, Koran. Through the idea of accosting a person met; to call out to (i.e. properly, address by name, but used in a wide variety of applications):--bewray (self), that are bidden, call (for, forth, self, upon), cry (unto), (be) famous, guest, invite, mention, (give) name, preach, (make) proclaim(- ation), pronounce, publish, read, renowned, say."Keep in mind that we already know that the Hebrew word #6151 in Strong's Concordance for "mixed" and "mingle" in Daniel 2:41 & 43 is the word "arab." This is in reference to the 4th kingdom with the feet and toes of potters clay and part of iron where the iron is "mixed" with miry clay on the great image that King Nebuchadnezzar saw in his dream that would arise on earth just prior to God of heaven setting up his kingdom which shall break into pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. It's also interesting to note that one of the meanings of the Hebrew word #7161 "qeren" is "peak (of mountain) or hill. However, the meaning of the Greek word #3735 "oros" is "mountain, a hill" which is found in Rev. 17:9 (where the woman Mystery Babylon sits on 7 mountains which are the 7 heads that have the 10 horns). According to an article at http://askelm.com/prophecy/p000201.htm there were 7 hills in Rome, Jerusalem and in Byzantium called New Rome which was built by Constantine. However, the author of the above article believes "The last world kingdom will be headquartered in Jerusalem, not in Rome, Babylon on the Euphrates or in Byzantium, or anywhere else. The false Christ will come to Jerusalem (the "City of Seven Hills") in order to rule the world, NOT to Rome in Italy!"Will an Islamic Caliph one day sit in Jerusalem as this Islamist claims in a recent article at http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3304384,00.html ? Don't forget that the king of the north (Daniel 11:15) according to Daniel 11:45 "shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him." Rev. 11:2 also says, "But the court without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months."So do you think it will be an Islamist that sitteth in the Temple of God, showing himself that he is God (2 Thess. 2:4)? Daniel 11:36-37 also says, "And the king shall do according to his will; and he will exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished for that that is determined shall be done. Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all."
