"Thanks for the Five Doves - I live in Canberra, Australia and read the daily updates with considerable interest - I am passionate about His imminent Return. Although this may have been mentioned on one of the articles, I feel that the greatest import of 6 June 2006 is that it is a doorway (and incredibly 'coincidental') into the 40th year since Jerusalem once again came under Israel governance. This makes the next short period, within the 5766 Israel year, of utmost importance. We are at the threshold of the unveiling of His purposes, but none of us perhaps are entirely clear about what lies behind the apocalyptic curtain (although we all study His Word to seek understanding). We should remember the centrality of the cross, and the crucified life, in all things, including the rapture. His purposes are imminent. Maranatha. Denis"

The new (some extra thoughts):

We are now approaching Rosh Hashanah and the end of Jewish year 5766 and I wanted to add just a few thoughts, and reinforce what many of us feel - that we are in a critical period of time and covering prayer is all important.  As I noted, I am passionate about His Second Coming, but that is because I am passionate about His first coming, and His indescribable love for me on the cross.  My thoughts are a little 'speculative' and may not be appropriate for sharing, but here they are:

In Australia we write our dates day/month/year.  In the United States the month comes first.  The last day of the Jewish year 5766 is 922 and if you put this together with 911 you get the following:

                        9        1       1         this forms two '12s', if you add two 9s you get 18 (6+6+6); if you multiply you get 81

                        9        2       2

The Atlantis spacecraft also lifted off on 9/09/06.  I am an Economist so possibly two focused on numbers.  While the numbers may not be important, the succession of dates is interesting:  Friday 22 September - the last day of 5766 ( a year with Bible code references); Saturday 23 September Rosh Hashanah.  Ramadan also starts on 24 or 25 September.  All in all a time to be vigilant and prayerful.  This turning into the next Jewish year (5767) could be a pivotal turning point for God's purposes, although sometimes it is only with hindsight that we see this import of this clearly (for example, when Israel became a nation again in 1948).

Looking (much) further ahead, I have noted with interest Daniel Matson's timeline to 2017.  While I am sure that God has some mysteries to fully reveal (His ways are not our ways!), this year is, as some have noted, both 70 years from 1948 and 50 years from 1967 (depending on time of year).  It is also the Jewish year 5777 and Rosh Hashanah that year is on 21 September (7+7=7).

Thanks for sharing your insights, Denis. The Greek gematria value of JESUS CHRIST is 2368 -- the 2017th composite number (non-prime) in the number series. 2017 is an important number as proven by Ian Mallett (see link).
