In response to Carl Lindquist's posting of 9-24-05, I saw a posting on
raptureready.com that was entitled: "Experts warn New York:  you could
be next."  NYC is the fifth most vulnerable in the country to hurricane
damage, after NO, Florida Keys, Tampa, and Galveston.  Local experts say
that such a catastrophe is "inevitable", and the NYC authorities warn
that it could bring a 30 foot high storm surge, crashing into
Manhattan.  But, the city could have less warning than Texas or La.
since hurricanes move faster as they head northwards.  Might this be the
one final catastrophe???
