Watching the Katrina aftermath with people looting, starving, being
murdered and raped, and it being completely beyond the control of the
civil authorities may be the closest thing we have to a Rapture
pre-image of the aftermath after the bride of Christ has been raptured.
Also, think about the winds and water of Katrina.  The waters lifted
Noah safely above the destruction while the waters drowned everyone
else, (as in the days of Noah).  The winds blew down and decimated
buildings, which could be considered an allusion to the Angel of Death
that came as a wind right before the chosen people of God were led by
Moses, (a preimage of Christ), to the Promised Land!  It could also be
considered an allusion to destruction coming from the sky, (as in the
days of Lot).
