"The Watches"
John and Doves,
This link provides an interesting view of the reason
the Bible says, "and if he comes in the second or third watch.." It basically
states that Israel has four watches, the first from 6-9, the second from
9-midnight, the third from midnight-3, and the fourth from 3-6 a.m. The
time between the second and third watches is "the midnight call" referred
to as the bridegroom returning for his bride.

I've read on some previous posts that the rapture of
the firstfruits comes in the first watch and the "master returning from
the wedding banquet" is referring to a second rapture of the foolish virgins
in the second or third watch. The link seems to say that Jesus was referring
to the wise virgins in the second or third watch. I don't know as much
about this as others on this site and would be interested to hear pro or
con responses to this position. Thanks,
