You might want to check out the Third Seal in Revelation chapter 6.  As the Tribulation Period is getting underway it will take a day's wages to buy a little bit of food.  This is massive inflation that is occurring.  Are we not right now about to see a rather large burst of inflation as a result of the aftermath of Rita and Katrina?  The days of the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah (Matt. 24:37), and I would guess that as Noah was loading up the ark, raindrops were beginning to fall.  In just the same way, the big burst of inflation that is coming is a warning of the Tribulation Period soon to follow!
