Dear Friends of: ASK FOR AMERICA!“We the people of the United States, in order to …secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity…” {September 17, 1787}
This Saturday, September 17th, will be the 218th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution of the United States of America by 39 delegates in the convention city of Philadelphia. The Constitution is the supreme law of our land and sets the basic laws of organizing, granting and limiting the powers of our government in a preamble and seven articles with 27 amendments subsequently added. Our Constitution is not perfect and the 27 amendments were enacted over the years as a means to achieve that end. The first 10 amendments, the Bill of Rights, were enacted in 1791 and the first of those ten was the Freedom of Religion. Psalm 33:12 “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom He hath chosen for His own Inheritance.”
Last week in Washington, D.C., Carol was at the Supreme Court praying when the Lord began to show her some prophetic insights. God pointed out the eight large columns on the front on the Supreme Court building and, as many of you know, eight is the Biblical number representing “New Beginnings”. We are soon going to experience new beginnings in our country as never before in our lifetime. God is giving Believers in Jesus blessings in the form of Godly Judges. As we have been interceding and crying out to God to change our Supreme Court, HE has been executing HIS plan, not man’s, to return this Nation back to HIM. God wants to fill this highest court in our nation with those who are willing to judge cases within the context of the original intent of our Founding Fathers, as opposed to interpreting the laws of the land in accordance with the shifting sands of political correctness or value-less precepts. We have a God that will not be mocked. HE is still on the throne, regardless of what others around the world may think. Pray for wisdom for our Senators who began deliberations this week over the nomination of Judge John Roberts for Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Pray for wisdom for our President, our brother in Christ Jesus, as he selects another nominee to replace Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, pray that he will hear the Lords voice above all others! Proverbs 8:15,16: “By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.”
As we all watched the tragedy unfold in New Orleans, I’m sure for many of us sympathy turned to empathy and then into grief for the victims brutalized by this natural catastrophe of epic proportions. As the news media began reporting this incident we were astounded by the early estimates of tens of thousands dead. These projections were made all the more tragic by the media framing them within the context of blaming the President and lambasting the Federal Government as totally unprepared and uncaring. Eventually, even the usually laid back Mrs. Laura Bush felt the need to “defend her man”...and God bless her for doing so! Once again, the national media embarked on a path of armchair quarterbacking with 20/20 hindsight, with the intent of stirring up anger and wrath against this Nation’s leaders. Everyone, including President Bush, admitted there were problems; but, that they would be fixed in time. Unfortunately, this is an instant gratification society with utterly no comprehension of the massive efforts needed to combat the ravages of such a widespread natural disaster that obliterated the Gulf Coast’s communications infrastructure. Without communication, there is chaos and confusion, even with our Nation’s military which is trained to operate in such an environment. Please pray for our President and the Executive Branch of our Federal Government as it labors to bring relief and recovery to the Gulf Coast in concert with State and local government efforts. Continue to pray for our national media, that they report the facts. Although one death is one too many, we thank God for the most recent reports of only several hundred and not tens of thousands of fatalities. Pray for the communications infrastructure in America, pray that God will give those who operate and maintain these systems the wisdom to put emergency plans in place that would not suffer the same fate as we saw unfold in the Gulf Coast.
We want to encourage each of you, that no matter what you hear or what you see happening in this or in other countries, God is Sovereign and His plan for this country and for this world will come to pass no matter what people may be doing contrary to HIS will! God is above all else or anyone else or anyone’s opinion. Strive to hear HIS voice and decide to follow Him no matter what your head may be telling you! Continue to “pray without ceasing” as God moves on behalf of His people in this country.
Please continue praying for the safety of not only our armed forces; but, also for their families as they too continue to sacrifice for this Nation. May God protect and watch over our brave military personnel and their loved ones.
Please pray for Carol and I as we speak at a conference next week, details to follow. Pray that we speak only what God wants his saints to hear and that our speech will be seasoned with the love of Jesus and His wisdom.
