Just one day following the Israeli withdrawal from the Egypt-Gaza border, Egyptian border guards discovered a weapons smuggling tunnel in the al-Duhniya area, four kilometers south of the Rafah crossing point. The tunnel contained 38 firearms and three rocket propelled grenades. Israel's withdrawal was contingent on Egypt deploying troops along the border to prevent arms smuggling. [more]
