Recently just before Katrina hit, I was praying and thinking about how so many of the people in New Orleans refused to follow the mandatory evacuation.  I believe the Holy Spirit impressed on me a real revelation concerning that very thing by saying "just like in the days of Noah" and instantly I received a revelation about that.  Jesus wasn't actually meaning "life as normal" but that people "refused to heed the warning and they wanted to do their own thing, how they wanted and when they wanted, regardless of the warnings."
 
I think we've focused on the wrong thing about the "days of Noah & for Lot" in thinking that things are normal even about what days of the week (as during the Holy Feast days) when they wouldn't be getting married ON one of those days etc; but what Jesus was really saying was that people are refusing to heed the warning and going about their lives the way they want to.
