"RE:  Nigerian Rapture Report"

RE:  Nigerian Rapture Report  http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/sep2005/rene914.htm

I don't think this is as farfetched as some...

How many parents have given their kids just a little more time or one (or more) chance(s) before they take action?

I believe that this delay and Jesus' intercession to get it may be in response to prayers by Christians on the behalf of unsaved friends and relatives.  After all, what comfort is it to us to have the rapture, but have loved ones left behind?

There is ample Biblical precedent for God's forebearance:

Noah was saved (he wasn't perfect, but God provided for him and his family).  The ark was shut up for 7 days before it began to rain... perhaps a delay to allow repentence on the part of people that were outside the ark?

Ninevah was spared (although later destroyed).

Rather than take the referenced article as discouragement, we should rejoice because someone will be spared the horrors of the tribulation because The Lord tarried...

Pray hard!
Fear not!  Occupy.  Look up!
