My Bible study concerns the 14000 day biblical generation, and what it may
mean for this Feast of Trumpets coming on October 4, 2005.I have received alot of positive feedback on how this Bible study makes the
subject so easy to understand. This Bible study seems to answer many of the question that are left
unanswered by other writers.

THE BIBLE CONFIRMS THAT A GENERATION IS EXACTLY 14,000 DAYS LONG. COULD THIS MEAN THAT JESUS (YESHUA IN HEBREW) IS RETURNING SOONER THAN WE THINK?
THE FIRST COMING OF JESUS WAS FORETOLD TO THE EXACT DAY. WILL WE KNOW THE SECOND COMING ALSO?
The Book of Daniel tells the story of one of the greatest prophets of the
Bible. Daniel was born about 620 years before Jesus. One day Daniel was
praying and fasting, and the angel Gabriel appeared"flying swiftly to me about the time of the evening sacrifice" Gabriel said
"Daniel, because God loves you very much, I have come to give you wisdom and
understanding... God has ordered 490 years for your people and your holy
city... A command will come to rebuild Jerusalem...483 years after the
command is given to rebuild Jerusalem, the anointed king (Jesus the Messiah)
will be killed, but not for himself..." Daniel 9:20-26The prophecy above is very clear, remember that Jerusalem and the Temple of
God had been destroyed by the Babylonians, Daniel is told that on some
future day a command will be given to rebuild Jerusalem, and 483 years from
that day, the Messiah will be on earth (and then die for us). The remaining
7 years of the prophecy are for the great tribulation period still to come.An Englishman named Sir Robert Anderson, who was head of Scotland Yard in
the 1890's, decided to investigate this prophecy in his book "The Coming
Prince". Historians know that the commandment to restore and build Jerusalem
was given by Artaxerxes Longimanus on March 14, 445 B.C. (Nehemiah chapter
2). Sir Robert Anderson did something interesting, he turned the 483 years
of the prophecy into days by multiplying 360 days per year times 483 years
for a total interval of 173,880 days between the commandment to rebuild
Jerusalem until the presentation of the Messiah as King. When Sir Robert
Anderson counted forward 173,880 days from March 14, 445 B.C. he ended up at
April 6, 32 A.D. You might wonder if anything special happened on that day?
This was the exact day that Jesus rode a donkey's colt into Jerusalem as the
people placed their robes and palm branches before him, and hailed him as
King (what we now call Palm Sunday). Thus Jesus fulfilled the prophecy to
the very day!THE GENERATION OF JESUS LASTED EXACTLY 14,000 DAYS.
There are three different generations mentioned in the Bible; one, is the
Generation of Moses, two, is the generation of Jesus, and three, is the last
days generation that will be alive to see the return of Jesus in power and
glory. People have offered different Ideas for the length of a generation;
such as 40 years, or 70 years, but the most biblical length of a generation
I've yet seen is given by John Zachary, in his book "Threshold of Eternity".
He believes that a biblical generation is equal to 14,000 days, or 2000
weeks, or about 38 years and 4 months. Zachary determined this number by
using a perpetual calendar to add up the number of days between two events
mentioned in the Bible. The first event that he started counting from is the
day of Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem, "Palm Sunday", April 6, 32
A.D. This day is chosen, because Jesus prophesied on Palm Sunday that"Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation."
Matthew 23:36Zachary stopped his count on the very day that the city and the Temple were
destroyed by the Roman legions under Titus Vespasian on August 5, 70 A.D.
There were exactly 14,000 days between these two events.THE GENERATION OF MOSES LASTED EXACTLY 14,000 DAYS.
God worked many great miracles to free the Israelites from slavery in Egypt,
and He wanted the Jews to immediately go up and possess the promised land.
However, the fighting men, age twenty and up, refused to trust God, and His
promise to fight for them. Therefore, God became angry, and He swore that
generation would not enter the promised land. The Hebrews left Egypt on Passover, which took place on the on the fifteenth
day of the first month. In the book of Numbers, we are told that it is now
the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year since they left
Egypt. For one year, one month, and five days, a total of 395 days ( 360
days = a year + 30 days = a month + 5 days = 395 days), the Israelites
traveled to and camped at Mt. Sinai. Many of the Bible stories that we are
familiar with took place during these 395 days. Some of the events that took
place are; leaving Egypt, crossing the Red Sea, traveling to Mt. Sinai where
God gave the Ten Commandments, the golden calf, the law breakers were
punished, and the people built the Tabernacle of God. Now, however, a change
was about to take place. The people had spent the 395 days getting to Mt.
Sinai and staying there. But now the Tabernacle had been completed and the
glory of the LORD was physically seen above the Tabernacle as a cloud by day
and a fire by night. For the first time in their history, the cloud of God's
Glory was about to lift and the people would now begin their 14,000 day
wanderings through the wilderness."Now it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second
year, that the cloud was taken up from above the tabernacle of the
Testimony. And the children of Israel set out from the Wilderness of Sinai
on their journeys... So they started out for the first time according to the
command of the LORD by the hand of Moses." Num. 10:11-13They started out for the first time to follow the glory of the LORD. This
was a momentous day in God's plan, because it would be exactly 14, 000 days
later that their children would cross the Jordan River and enter the
promised land. During their journey in the wilderness, the entire generation
of fighting men will die off along the way. Only Joshua and Caleb will be
allowed in because of their obedience.Moses was one of the last men of that generation to die. In Deuteronomy 1:3
we learn that it is now the first day of the eleventh month of the fortieth
year. Now it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on
the first day of the month, that Moses spoke to the children of Israel...
Deut. 1:3 On that day Moses retold the story how they left Egypt, their
wanderings through the desert, and he further tells the people that:You stand this day, all of you...so that you should enter into covenant with
the LORD your God, which the LORD is making with you today - so that He may
establish you today for a people for Himself... Deut. 29:10-13. Then the
LORD spoke to Moses that very same day, saying: "Go up this mountain...view
the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel as a possession;
and die on the mountain which you ascend, and be gathered to your
people...Deut. 32:48-50 Then Moses went up... to Mount Nebo...the LORD said
to him, "I have caused you to see it with your eyes, but you shall not cross
over there." So Moses the servant of the LORD died there...according to the
word of the LORD. Deut 34:1-5So, we know that Moses preached the words of Deuteronomy and on the same day
ascended Mount Nebo where he would die as the Lord God said. That day was
the first day of the eleventh month of the fortieth year from leaving Egypt. And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days.
So the days of weeping and mourning for Moses ended. Now Joshua the son of
Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom... so the children of Israel heeded
him... Deut.34:9Joshua assumed leadership after the 30 days of mourning on the first day of
the twelfth month of the fortieth year. After the death of Moses... the LORD spoke to Joshua, saying: "Moses My
servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this
people, to the land which I am giving to them... Now the people came up from
the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month... Joshua 1:1 & 4:19This is the tenth day of the first month of the forty-first year since they
left Egypt. To count the days we will add the following: Remember they left Egypt on the
fiftenth day of the first month of the first year. Therefore, from the day
they left Egypt until they crossed the Jordan river, on the tenth day of the
first month of the forty-first year, 14,395 days elapsed. This is five days
short of forty full years. Five days later they celebrated passover in the
land, and the supply of manna from Heaven stopped. Now Remember that the
first day the cloud of God's glory lifted, and the Hebrews began their
wandering through the desert was: the twentieth day of the second month, in
the second year...Num. 10:11 as discussed in the above paragraph. That
special day was 395 days after they left Egypt. Therefore, from the day they
first set out following the cloud of the Glory of God through the
wilderness, until the people crossed the Jordan river, exactly 14,000 days
elapsed (14,395 - 395 = 14,000).ARE THE TIMES OF THE GENTILES OVER?
Jesus said, that the times of the Gentiles would be over, when the Jewish
people once again ruled Jerusalem....And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away
captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down by Gentiles,
until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. Luke 21:24Jesus said, that when Jerusalem would be destroyed, the Jews would be taken
away as captives into all the nations of the world. This has surely been the
case. We know from history that the Romans took the surviving Jews as slaves
into many other nations. The second part of the prophesy is also true,
Jerusalem was ruled by gentile nations continuously from the times of the
Romans until June 7th, 1967 when the Israel recaptured the city. Many
Christians are coming to believe that when Jewish people once again ruled
over Jerusalem, that this was the sign that marked the beginning of the
last-days generation.HAS THE LAST-DAYS GENERATION ALREADY BEGUN?
We now know that there are at least two portions of Holy Scripture that show
us a generation lasts 14,000 days or 2000 weeks. I believe that this should
conclusively prove the length of a Biblical generation, because Jesus said
'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three
witnesses.' Now back to considering the Last-days generation. If one adds
14,000 days to June 7, 1967, the day Israel again controlled Jerusalem after
2000 years. What is discovered seems truly amazing. The 14,000th day lands
on Tuesday October 4th, 2005. This day is Rosh Hashanah for the year 2005. I
sincerely believe that it is not just a coincidence that the 14,000th day is
Rosh Hashanah. From our studies, we have seen that Rosh Hashanah, and the
other Fall feasts seem to teach about the return of Jesus Christ. Now, there
may be reason to believe that Rosh Hashanah, the Day of Attonement, and
Tabernacles 2005 might be a special season on God' Holy day calendar.NOTHING IN THIS BIBLE STUDY SHOULD BE CONSTURED TO SAY THAT JESUS IS
RETURNING THIS OCTOBER. I don't believe that we can know these things right
now with absolute certainty. However, I do believe that we will be given
wisdom and revelation from God as the time approaches, because God has
always given His people advance knowledge of the future. For example, Noah
was told that a flood was coming, and as the time approached God gave him
seven days notice."Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth..."
Both Abraham and Lot were told in advance of the destruction of Sodom.
Besides these, there are many other stories in which the people of God were
warned in time to escape coming destruction. From these examples, I would
expect Gods people ( those who are doing what He commanded and actually
watching, waiting, and praying) To have individual revalation, and wisdom
from the Holy Spirit about Jesus' coming possibly one day to one week ahead
of time.Secondly, we can also watch world events about a possible "peace" treaty
between Israel and the arabs (especially one that deals with the status of
jerusalem). I believe that if October 4, 2005 is a special day, this peace
treaty will be making world news around this time, and there may be official
signing ceremonies in Washington, and with European leaders and the United
Nations also. If this treaty follows a similar outline as noted below in the
paragraph about World War II being a type of the Future Tribulation, I would
expect an agreement to be officially announced on Oct. 4 (Feast of
Trumpets). Over the next few days there would be signing ceremonies possibly
in Europe, washington the U.N. and Israel, and adoption of the agreement by
the varius governments. This would be a big media fair, just like when Lord
Chamberlain of England met with Adolph Hitler, and they adopted the Munich
Pact during the Holy Feasts in 1938. Finally, The treaty may be implemented
on Oct. 17 at the Feast of Tabernacles.I ALSO EXPECT JERUSALEM (THE OLD CITY) TO BE HANDED OVER TO THE GENTILES,
POSSIBLY AS AN INTERNATIONAL CITY GOVERNED BY THE UNITED NATIONS, IN
EXCHANGE FOR THE RIGHT TO REBUILD THE TEMPLE. SEE Revelation 11:1I was given a reed like a measuring rod and was told, "Go and measure the
temple of God and the altar, and count the worshipers there. But exclude the
outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles.
They will trample on the holy city for 42 months". (3 1/2 YEARS)But, most importantly we should watch for Jesus, and make sure we are doing
His will when He returns.THE TIMING OF END TIME EVENTS IS NOT FORBIDDEN.
Many people believe that all Christians, even those living in open sin, will
be caught up to Christ when He returns. However, I believe that Jesus will
be looking for people who are leading a Christ-like life and are actively
praying and watching for His return."Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation,
drunkenness and the cares of life, and that day will close on you
unexpectedly like a trap. For it will come upon all those who live on the
face of the whole earth. Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be
accounted worthy to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be
able to stand before the Son of Man." Luke 21:34It seems that we Christians should take Christ's warning to heart, so we
will not be caught by surprise by His return. Could it be that some will not
be accounted worthy to escape the coming terrors. We should not forget that
Jesus gave us this warning:"Obey what you have heard. Change your hearts and lives! You must wake up,
or I will come to you and surprise you like a thief ." Rev. 3:3In other words, if you will be alert, pray, and obey God's Word, you will
not be surprised by His coming. If you are spiritually asleep, you will not
be ready for escape. Jesus said only the sleeping will be surprised when He
comes. After all, Jesus said:"The Holy Spirit will lead you and guide you into all truth, and reveal to
you things to come."The Apostle Paul also says that christians, who are living in light of the
Word of God and His Holy Spirit, will not be surprised by Christ's return."Brothers, you are not living in darkness. And, so that day will not
surprise you like a thief." 1 Thes 5:4Dates are in the Bible, they were put there by God, Himself. They were put
there for us to study. They were put there to be discovered at the appointed
time. There are no scriptures that says we can never learn the time of
Christ's return for His Church; but rather, it is explicitly stated that
christians who are living in the light and led by the Holy Spirit will not
be surprised!GOD HAS ALWAYS TOLD HIS PEOPLE IN ADVANCE WHAT HE WAS ABOUT TO DO.
Noah was told that a flood was coming, and as the time approached God gave
him seven days notice. "Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth
for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth
every living creature I have made. And after the seven days the floodwaters
came on the earth. " Genesis 7:4 Jesus said that His coming would be like
the days of Noah:,"As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of
Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking,
marrying and giving in marriage,up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they
knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all
away. Matthew 24:37Notice, it says: "and they knew nothing about what would happen until the
flood came and took them all away." The unbelievers were caught by surprise,
but God told His people in advance as to the very day of the flood. God Gave
Abraham and Lot advance notice of Sodom's destruction. Both Abraham and Lot
received about one days notice before the judgment fell. Genesis 19A REDISCOVERED KEY TO UNDERSTANDING THE END TIMES.
Before we go further, we must understand one more very important part of the
prophecy puzzle that has come to light in the past few years. This is the
understanding of the jewish feasts and how they apply to the first and
second coming of Jesus.God told Israel to celebrate seven different feasts each year. There were
three feasts celebrated, as a group, in the spring time:(1) Passover,
(2) The Festival of Unleavened Bread,
(3) The feast of First fruits.
One feast in the middle of the year;
(4) Pentecost.
And, the last three feasts were celebrated as a group in the fall;
(5) Rosh HaShanah (or Feast of Trumpets)
(6) The day of Atonement,
(7) The Feast of Tabernacles.
God required all males to travel to Jerusalem three times a year, Spring,
Summer, and Fall, to attend these feasts, and the Bible clearly says that
Jesus participated in all the feasts. What has been recently understood is
that four of these feasts were literally fulfilled in the life of Jesus. An outline of how the feasts were fulfilled is below:
(1) Passover Commemorates the day Moses applied the lambs blood to the door
posts of the Israelite homes in Egypt, so that the Death Angel would pass
over them. In fulfillment, 1,600 years later, Jesus died on the cross, on
the very day of Passover, even at the same hour (3:00 PM) that the lambs
were being slaughtered in the Temple. And now, those who apply the blood of
Christ to the door posts of their heart will live forever.(2) Unleavened bread commemorates the days that the Israelites left Egypt
and traveled to the Red Sea. They ate bread made without yeast, because
there was not enough time to allow the bread to rise. In fulfillment these
were the days that Jesus was buried in the earth, not yet risen.(3) The Feast of First fruits commemorates the time that God parted the Red
Sea and the Israelites arose from the depths of the sea alive on the other
side. Jesus arose from the dead on the feast of first fruits, what we now
call Resurrection Sunday or Easter. Also remember, that Jesus is called "the
First fruits of those that rise from the dead". I Corinthians 15:20(4) Pentecost commemorates the fifty days that Moses and the Israelites
traveled from the Red Sea to Mt. Sinai where God gave them the Ten
Commandments and God's fiery presence was seen on the mountain. This was
fulfilled when the Holy Spirit came upon Jesus' followers, on the day of the
feast of Pentecost, exactly fifty days after Jesus rose from the dead. The
next three feasts have yet to be fulfilled, and most people believe Jesus
will fulfill them at His second coming, because of what the feasts
represent.(5) Rosh HaShanah (or Feast of Trumpets) is the Jewish new year. According
to Jewish writings, It is believed to be the day that God created the world.
It is also taught that the dead will be raised on this day and the wedding
of the Messiah will take place. This is also the day that many believe the
"catching away of the saints" or Rapture will occur. This day is also known
as the "Last Trump" because rams horn trumpets were joyfully blown
throughout the land on this day. Remember what the Apostle Paul wrote:"...We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the
blinking of an eye, at the Last Trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the
dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this
corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on
immortality... Then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written,
Death is swallowed up in victory." I corinthians 15:51(6) The Day of Atonement is considered the holiest day of the year. This was
the day that the High Priest sprinkled the blood on the Mercy seat in the
holiest place in the Temple. This day looks forward to the day that Jesus
Physically returns to the Earth to complete the redemption process.(7) The Feast of Tabernacles commemorates the years that the Israelites
wandered in the desert. During this time, they lived in tents or tabernacles
because they moved regularly. Also, God's presence was seen among them as a
bright cloud that shaded them by day and, a fiery cloud that kept them warm
at night. God also supernaturally provided all of their food and water for
those 14,000 days in the desert. This feast also looks forward to the time
that we will live in God's presence, and He will care for us like a loving
father. Many other historical events, both secular and religious, occurred on the
feast days, and an entire book could be written on how God works during
these feasts.WHAT WILL THE RAPTURE LOOK LIKE?
The Bible gives us the raptures of Enoch, Elijah, and Jesus to look at as an
examples of what the future rapture of the church might look like. Neither
Enoch, Elijah, or Jesus were surprised by their own rapture to Heaven. In
fact, each of them told others that they were going to be taken to Heaven,
and in the case of Elijah, the prophets from Bethel knew, by inspiration
from God, that Elijah was going to be taken up that very day. Also all
three, by the inspiration of God, walked out to a certain place to be taken
up from, and Elijah and Jesus were both seen to rise from the earth. These
examples from the Bible give us some understanding of what the catching away
of the church might be like. See scripture references Genesis 5:24, Hebrews
11:5, 2 Kings ch. 2, Acts ch 1.
World War II is a picture of the coming Tribulation.
From the Book of Daniel, we read :
Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; but in the middle
of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. Daniel 9:27Therefore, we know that the anti-christ, will do the following:
He will make a peace treaty that has a seven year component, or
implementation period. Converted to days, this comes to exactly 2,520 days
(7 x 360 days in a jewish year).A seven year period of tribulation will begin when the treaty is enacted,
It will be a false peace treaty that will lead to world war, and suffering
In the middle, 3 1/2 years (1,260 days) later, he will stop jewish worship
in the Temple, and wage war on the Jews. The Book of Revelation tells us:
And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260
days." Revelation 11:3The woman fled into the desert to a place prepared for her by God, where she
might be taken care of for 1,260 days. Revelation 12:6The war will involve the whole world and the "Kings of the East", Revelation
16Finally, this evil man will be thrown alive into the lake of fire (Hell).
Revelation 19
From history, we know: In the fall of 1938, Hitler threatened to invade
Czechoslovakia over the Sudatenland. Hitler claimed that this area was
rightfully a part of Germany. a second great War between the European powers
seemed eminent. However, in a last minute compromise, on September 29,1938,
Germany, England, France, and Italy signed the "Munich Pact". This agreement
outlined a trade, Hitler got the Sudatenland, and Europe received peace.
This was a land for peace deal, Hitler kept the land but not the peace. This
so called peace treaty may be similar to a future peace treaty thrust upon
Israel in the future.
The Munich Pact was:Announced by Hitler, to the Reichstag on September 26, 1938 (Rosh Hashanah).
In full effect on October 10, 1938 (The Day of Tabernacles)
Three and one half years later, was March 9, 1942. Just days earlier,
Heydrich revealed official plans to exterminate all Jews in Europe, "The
Final Solution". On March 1, 1942, extermination by gas began in Sobibor
camp, and on March 17 the killing began in Belzec. Also, beginning in March,
Jews were shipped to Auschwitz and other camps. Therefore, Hitler began his
plan to exterminate the jews three and a half years after the "peace" treaty
began just like the anti-messiah will do in the future! After Hitler killed himself, his body was laid in a bomb crater, doused with
gasoline and then burned. His own lake of fire.EXACTLY seven years (2,520 days) after the Munich Pact was signed and in
effect, Japan signed documents of surrender on September 2, 1945, ending
World War II.I believe World War II is a picture of what is to come during the
tribulation period. I also believe, this is historical evidence showing that
God is at work in human history, and further evidence that world events
often occur during the Bible Holy Days and prescribed feast days, such as
Rosh Hashanah and Tabernacles in this example. This may be reason to expect
that future covenant, spoken of in the book of Daniel, may also be
implemented on these same feast days in a year yet to come.More can be found at:

A WORD FOR THE DAY
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures for ever. Psalm
136:1Whoever calls on the name of the Lord Jesus shall be saved. Acts 2:21
P.S. Jesus is coming soon!
