"Rosh Hashana Marks The Sixth Day Of Creation"

While reading a new article about Rosh Hashana which marks the 6th Day of Creation from the Temple Institute at
http://www.templeinstitute.org/rosh_hashana/introduction.htm
I discovered the page at http://www.templeinstitute.org/rosh_hashana/torch.htm which said, "Simultaneously, the proclamation of the new moon would go out from Jerusalem by way of torches lit by specially appointed "relay teams" who were located on strategically places hill tops. Using this method, the news could be transmitted quickly all the way to the Jewish communities of Babylon and Persia. Speed was of the essence in order to enable all to observe Rosh Hashana and the following holidays in their proper times."

The city of Jerusalem was on a hill; so was the Mount of Olives which was the first station along the route where the torches were to be lit. The torches on the hilltops immediately reminded me of the passage in Matthew 5:14-16 about the candlesticks and the city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.

Matthew 5:14  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
