Senior Palestinian Authority (PA) official Dr. Saeb Erekat called on Israel to resume negotiations, stating that only the creation of a Palestinian state in Gaza, Judea and Samaria will result in peace and stability in the region.

Responding to Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s UN General Assembly address, in which he called on the PA to show it really wants peace, Erekat stated “Israel must return to the pre-1967 borders and end its occupation.”
