"Re: Susan Fulton "Rapture NOT this year""

Some of what Susan said:

<<Many on Fivedoves are hoping for the rapture to take place this Oct.
on Rosh Hashanah.
I do not see it happening his year.
I still think that we are going to have a lot of cataclysmic events before that
takes place.

I see God pouring out His judgments upon the world in order to
wake up His complacent, sleeping church.
I don't think His church is actually ready for His coming.
Their are many who are ready, but I feel that He wants to complete His Harvest.
To bring in those wandering ones.
I think that when He is finished, that churches will be packed to overflowing.
Oh! Glory!
It will be standing room only.  Praise the Lord!
Only the Mega churches can boast of that now.
People will be anxious to here about God. A great revival will break out.>> (etc. etc.)

Well, now we know what Susan Fulton thinks... What do ya say we see what Jesus says about it and see if they agree and if not who you goin' with?

Luk 12:46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

Luk 12:47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

Luk 12:48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

Luk 12:49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?

Luk 13:23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,

Luk 13:24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

Mat 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and fewfew there be that find it.

Mat 22:14 For many are called, but fewfare chosen.

Mar 13:34 For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.

Mar 13:35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:

Mar 13:36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.

Mar 13:37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

Luk 18:8 ... Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Mat 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

Mat 22:8 Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.

Joh 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

Luk 14:33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

Luk 14:34 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned?

Luk 14:35 It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

1Co 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

1Co 15:24 Then cometh the end

The way I understand this last scripture is that it is referring to the first fruits offerings in the old testament as a type of the way that this Earth will be harvested (made alive, raptured) by God. There is a very specific order to it. Like a military rank and file. The first rapture occurred after Jesus rose and He brought with Him those that represent the handful of grain that was presented to God as a firstfruit offering of a season's grain.

Mat 27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,

Mat 27:53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

After that the first two loaves of bread were presented as another firstfruits offering. That is the rapture that we are waiting for. (I am anyway.) It can come at any time (Paul expected it) and is described as "They that are Christ's at His coming."  One thing I've always noticed about loaves of bread, unlike a handful of grain or the gleanings that make up the tribulation saints, (also called firstfruits) the loaves have a completeness to them. In other words a loaf of bread is a finished product. Not only that, but two loaves (24 elders? Old and new testament saints?) are not very big in size compared to all the gleanings that are left in the field at the corners and that grain which fell back to Earth all over the field which was not to be picked back up again by the harvesters but was left to the stranger and the poor. (remember Ruth...) This number is a multitude that no man can number. So what it tells us is that if you are loo! king for a big revival before Jesus can come back, you did not find that idea in the bible.

Also where did this idea come from that we are already at the sixth seal? John was caught up way before the first seal not at the sixth. He represents us being caught up right after the messages to the churches. And before Antichrist is revealed at the first seal. While I'm at it, I've heard so much talk elsewhere about how there must come an apostasy first and that man of sin be revealed before we can be raptured. It seems like God likes to put these opportunities for controversy in His word. There are two ways that this verse can be interpreted.

2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition

One interpretation is that the church must become apostate and reprobate and void of truth before the end can come. The other is that the faithful must be removed from the Earth in the rapture before the Antichrist and the tribulation can begin. Because the word apostasy, translated falling away, simply means remove. Does it make sense to you that Paul, in trying to comfort these Thessalonians, would tell them to Cheer up because you are all going to fall away or be removed from the truth before the day of the Lord can come...? If Paul was foretelling of a removal from doctrinal truth to these saints as a way to encourage them it just doesn't make any sense. Why would he end this section with these words?

2Th 2:15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

2Th 2:16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,

2Th 2:17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

No, for me it makes much more sense that Paul was comforting us and instructing us to comfort one another with words about our removal from this corrupt world prior to the man of sin being revealed. That's a comfort indeed and I encourage you all not to listen to the naysayers whoever they may be.
