"We Watchers" with sincere thanks to David Wikle
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Hi family,
These are my thoughts that dominate my mind and heart this morning of 2nd September 2004.
We “Watchers” are giddy with anticipation, the "Fall Feast" days are almost upon us. This is something you can feel and sense in your spirit. It is real, it overtakes us at odd times of the day.
Is this “THE YEAR”..... or just another year of waiting?My spirit is on high alert, reaching for clues or a Word. Prayer and worship constantly fills my heart. It is costly, draining, and yet up-lifting all at the same time.
The "fullness of time" could be this month ...... and yet, after all these years of study and searching, we won’t know the final details until that last grain of sand passes the hour glass. Two grains to go and still we are in the dark.
For sure, the fullness of time is God’s time, not ours to know.
And all the while we have to endure our Christian friends and family who are a blank concerning the times. Where are the discerners in the church leadership? Where is the intensity of the lateness of the hour in church?
Am I, are we Watchers, just crazy? .... Yes, many would say that we are; our lamps have been trimmed and the supply of oil is full. We are cloaked with His righteousness, for our "works" are nothing.
We are ready for our bridegroom to come, where is He? We keep looking out the door, is He coming Yet?
My heart is expectant as I drive and work at my daily tasks. I plan ahead, yet always with the hope that my plans will be swept away by His trumpet call to meet Him in the clouds.
Where is He? When will my Redeemer come?
I love you all.
"Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope
fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of
Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the
former lusts in your ignorance; but as He who called you is HOLY, you
also become HOLY in all conduct, because it is written, Be HOLY, because
I am HOLY.And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges
according to each one's work, behave yourselves throughout the time of
your sojourning in fear; knowing that you were not redeemed with
corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your vain way of life
received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of
Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot." (1Pet1:13-19)
