"John Russell"
Your
common-sense commentary/rebuttal was excellent!
A
few years back I read a book by Erwin W. Lutzer called THE SERPENT OF PARADISE.
It contained the following quote: "When we stand in awe of God, we will
find it unnecessary to stand in awe of satan." The purpose of
his book was to remind us that (quoting Martin Luther) "the devil is God's
devil" and still serves God today. God uses satan to "judge the unconverted,
to refine the obedient, to discipline the disobedient, and to purify his
chosen ones."
Job
1:12 (NKJV): And the Lord said to satan. "Behold, all that he (Job)
has is in your power, only do not lay a hand on his person."
Colossians
2:15 (NKJV): Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made
a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.
Rev
5:13 (NKJV): "Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits
on the throne. And to the Lamb, forever and ever."
