Thank you for confirming Neil Lipken's post and reminding us of things WE SHOULD BE AWARE OF about America today.  In the early days of the church, they didn't have to spend time convincing each other that the Roman Empire was not their friend.  That was a given. Its unfortunate that those lines of delineation became blurred.
 
The only righteousness on this earth is that righteousness through Christ which is imputed to the true saints, and "the WHOLE WORLD lies in wickedness." (IJohn 5:19)  If in anything we think otherwise, we are surely deluded.  "BUT JESUS DID NOT COMMIT HIMSELF UNTO THEM because he knew all men.  And needed not that any should testify of man: FOR HE KNEW WHAT WAS IN MAN." (John 2:24-5), and JESUS admonishes us in Matthew 10:16B"....BE YE THEREFORE WISE AS SERPENTS, AND HARMLESS AS DOVES."
 
Nevertheless we are to PRAY "FOR KINGS AND FOR ALL IN AUTHORITY;  that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all GODLINESS AND HONESTY.(ITimothy 2:2) and "I will therefore that men PRAY EVERYWHERE lifting up holy hands, WITHOUT WRATH AND DOUBTING."
