"Re: Luke 21"

Donna,
Those are good questions - let's explore them.

Another question....I have seen on the internet that all of the other religions have a figure like Jesus, who did the exact same things that our Jesus did.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet.  No other religion has a figure just like Jesus who did the same things Jesus did.  Other religions have man trying to please God by man's own works or man becoming God.

Jesus is God becoming a man born of a woman to rescue humanity from the separation caused by man's rebellion (sin) against God.  Our works can't justify us before God, and because God's character is perfectly Just, our rebellion had to be paid for in blood - the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.  God paid His own Blood for us because while He is Perfectly Just and Holy He is also Merciful and Loving.  His actions are always consistent with His Character.  God saved us when we were unable to save ourselves and now instead of trying to work our way into being good enough to please God, all He asks of us is to believe the the blood of Jesus Christ has made us acceptable to Him and to be in a loving relationship with Him, a citizen of heaven, a member of God's family and a stone in His temple.

I have read that our Bible, along with other peoples religious books have all been taken from much older books, and that is why they all have a savior that does exactly what Jesus did....
The first part of the Bible is the history of mankind and then the Jewish people.  We have the prophecies of how God was going to redeem all of mankind, especially in Isaiah.  Remember that God told Eve that the serpent's head would be crushed through the seed of a woman.  That is a clue to where mother child cults developed.  The devil was there when Eve was told that and has sought to twist the truth ever since.  Nimrod's wife (who interesting lived in the Shinar plain where Babylon was and Iraq is today), declared herself a Goddess, and that her son Tammez was killed and brought back to life.  This developed into the worship of Asteroth and several other parallel deities.  You can even see this practice was absorbed when Constantine declared Christianity would be the state religion (worship of the mother and child).   So we have a classic tactic - first the truth God telling Eve that her seed would crush the serpent's head and the serpent (the devil) twisting the truth to draw people away from God.  Since Adam and Eve were the first man and woman this story would be common across cultures as mankind increased.  Interestingly enough every culture has the story of the flood with about 8  people being  rescued through it.

So how can people say that the Muslims' Allah is not the same God as our God?

Study the characteristics of the Judeo-Christian God - The Bible says He is Holy, He is Righteous, He is Loving and merciful, compassionate and gracious.  What He wants from us is a relationship of parent to child and of friend..

Study the characteristics of Allah - he is never called righteous that I could find.  He is referred to as the Holy, not being Holy, and the Koran only describes Allah's Loving Kindness once that I could find.  Allah of the Koran is capricious, people never knowing whether they can get into heaven or not, even if they commit jihad.  Allah is also unknowable and the only relation is that of a Master to a Slave.  That is one of the reasons slavery still exists in muslim nations.  The Allah of the Koran is also irrational, saying one thing in one place and then the exact opposite in another place.  You can't ask questions of him and all you can do is give him blind obedience, and above all don't think!  That is how Muslims can proclaim allah akhbar as they murder children.

I propose that we all worship the same creator, and the sooner we realize this, the better off Christians will be.

The proof is in the pudding.  Wherever Christ goes, the conditions of mankind improve, the lives of women improve, and there is joy and freedom.  Wherever islam goes, there is poverty, slavery, despair, women are degraded,  people are tyrannized, and suffering increases.  Jesus said by their fruits you would know them.  So just looking at the fruits, you can tell that allah and the Judeo-Christian God are two different beings.

I hope this clears things up a little for you Donna.
