A COMPARISON OF TWO GREAT SINS IN AMERICAN HISTORY
Neil Lipken
If I had been either a pastor or Bible teacher in America
in 1820, I would have delivered the following message to the churches.
"Today in America we have a very great sin that as a nation we have not
dealt with. We should have corrected the matter when we wrote our
Constitution and Bill of Rights some years back, but we did not.
That sin is the very great sin of slavery. As a result of tolerating
this in our nation, eventually the Lord will deal with America and she
will face great judgment!" I can just imagine that after delivering
this message at many churches, many people would have scoffed me.
And those who might have run into me in the year 1840 would have laughed
again at me and said, "Hey, you delivered that ridiculous message twenty
years ago, and America is doing just fine! She has not come to any
judgment!" Well, what eventually happened? The Civil War in
which 500,000 to 600,000 Americans on both sides died! Judgment did
fall, but it did take many years! In fact, about 80 years after the
forming of the nation! But judgment DID come!
The very same is true today for the great national sin
of abortion. Call it what you will, pro-choice or from our vantage
point as Christians, pro-life, but the great truth is that over 43,000,000
babies have been MURDERED in America! That is about the size of some
European countries! Ever since 1973 this plague has been upon America,
and people do not think that judgment is coming for this very great sin!
After all, it has been over 30 years and all is fine in America!
MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT IT, JUDGMENT WILL FALL UPON AMERICA, AND THIS TIME
IT WILL BE MUCH WORSE THAN THE CIVIL WAR! We have a name for this
coming judgment. It is called "Daniel's 70th Week" or the "tribulation
period"! As we are approaching the PRE-TRIBULATION Rapture (and yes,
it is pre-trib!!!), judgment will follow for America!
