Chris, several years ago I had a vision that helped me and changed my way of
thinking about some things.
I was laying in bed, praying and also listening to a preacher on the
shortwave radio. I listened to him often and I had heard him say this phrase
a thousand times, but that night when I heard it something awesome &
glorious happened.
When he said, "Our God is a consuming fire", I was suddenly looking at a
huge fireball coming toward me at nanospeed and it totally consumed all of
my flesh.
There was no pain.
 It seemed like my soul exited to the left of where my body once lay.
 In this place of soul without flesh , it was dark with no images, just a
most secure sense of perfectness, purity,  peace and joy.
Then just as suddenly my soul returned to my body and it was great pain to
be back in the flesh. My soul grieved deeply over this pain of carrying
flesh and I cried to the Father to let me go back.
This all happened in less than a second, but seemed a lot longer.
It was very hard for me to explain what I felt there until I was told that
what I experienced was called holiness.
For a long time it bothered me that I been in a dark place. After all, all
the other stories I heard told about a great white light or a beautiful
scenery of some sort. Then I found this verse in the Word of God which says:
And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret
places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name,
am the God of Israel. Isaiah 45:3

and also...
You came near and stood at the foot of the mountain while it blazed with
fire to the very heavens, with black clouds and deep darkness. 12 Then the
LORD spoke to you out of the fire. You heard the sound of words but saw no
form; there was only a voice. Deuteronomy 4:11,12

and......
10 He mounted the cherubim and flew;
he soared on the wings of the wind.
11 He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him-
the dark rain clouds of the sky.
12 Out of the brightness of his presence clouds advanced,
with hailstones and bolts of lightning.

Psalms 18:10-12

and....
2 Clouds and thick darkness surround him;
righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
Psalms 97:2
 
 

I still wonder and examine that vision , even after all this time I can
recall it as if it just happened.

I wonder if that was the baptism of fire............
I wonder if that is how I will die...........

That vision helped me to understand the differences between body, soul and
spirit.

That vision removed all fear of death.

I soooo long to be in that Holy place again............ I soooo long to be
free of this painful flesh.

Even so, Come Lord Jesus........and the Spirit & the Bride say come!!!!!!!!
