Dear Doves,Over the last few days I have been dwelling on some random thoughts; questions that do not seem to have any good answers. Perhaps you too have come across these. Maybe together we may reason out some explanations.
Why is it that educated, born-again Christians can still be so easily misled by unscrupulous theologians, unprincipled politicians, and corrupt ideologies? Why are these Christians as susceptible to making judgments based on out-of-context sentences, be they biblical or political, as those whose lives are colored by their secular world views?
Yesterday, I pulled up behind a car at a red light. This car displayed not only the recognizable fish sign but also a sticker that said: Pro-Child, Pro-Family, and Pro Choice. What twisted logic reconciles these messages?
Did Paul go around saying 'Jesus forgave me; I am no longer a murderer' although both statements are true?
Jesus said that not one that the Father gave Him will be lost. How do we know all those that the Father gave Him? Should we be surprised to see some former monsters in heaven? Who is the born-again Christian who was a former Mason? Is he not now a new person?
We see TV Evangelists claiming they are born-again and yet misinterpreting scripture and preaching false doctrine. Who are these people? Misguided children of God whom He will set straight or evil wolves in sheep's clothing? How do we discern who's who? Perhaps we should look at the fruits of their labors. Judge the totality of the person instead of their individual decisions which are subject to human failings. Is there any other way? What about politicians?
Awaiting your reply
