Dear friends:
The legendary singer Johnny Cash died one year ago, on September 12, 2003. Many years ago, he wrote these lyrics for his wife, June Carter, in the song, "Meet Me in Heaven":
We walked trouble's brooding, windswept hills
And we loved and we laughed the pain away
At the end of the journey, when our last song is sung
Will you meet me in Heaven someday? He also wrote a song titled, "September When It Comes":
September when it comes.
So when the shadows link them,
And burn away the clouds.
They will fly me, like an angel,
To a place where I can rest.
When this begins, I'll let you know,
September when it comes.I am reminded of two things.
First, I discovered that many years ago when his life had reached bottom, Johnny Cash had a life-changing encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ in the same cave on the Tennessee River as did David Gant years later in 1992. David's experience happened to be under water after the cave had been flooded.
Second, a friend reminded me of a message I sent out on July 28, 2002. Here is part of it:
_____________________Today, July 28, 2002… the following message was forwarded to me from Cyndee:
"My daughter, Kyla, who was 11 last year, at the time she was carried into the Spirit by the Lord. It was 3 in the morning and she was up and weeping and told me she had been with Jesus and he had told her some things. A lot was personal for the family but there was something Jesus told her that was amazing. She, to this day, still says Jesus told her, 'I am coming some September.' Now I received this! What it means I don't know for sure, but I will say this, SOMETHING very spectacular is fixing to happen and I am excited and Jesus is in IT!! God also told her that her family, meaning her siblings, and me, her Mother and her Dad, would not die until they all see the coming of the Lord."
_______________________So here we are: two years from Kyla's message, and one year from Johnny Cash's departure:
Johnny asked, "Will you meet me in Heaven someday? September when it comes..."
