Dear  friends:

Today I was thinking about the biblical significance of the number 70 and was reminded of a message I sent out in June 2003.  For the sake of reminding, it is below, slightly modified.  It is relevant to 2004.

The number 70 and a 70-year interval seem significant in biblical history.

Examples:

1. The Babylonian captivity lasted 70 years.

2. Daniel prophesied 70 prophetic weeks of years for Israel until Messiah comes.

3. There were 70 years from the first Jewish settlements in the Holy Land in 1878 until the Jewish state was born in 1948. Major prophetic events 70 years apart!

4. There were 70 years from the first World Zionist Congress in 1897 until Jerusalem and the Temple mount were captured in the 1967 Six-Day War. Major prophetic events 70 years apart!

5. On August 2, 1934, Hitler proclaims himself Fuehrer of the Third Reich following the death of Reich President von Hindenburg.  Also in 1934,

Heinrich
Himmler, Chief of the SS,
assumes command of all Nazi concentration camps.

The Holocaust began in 1933-1934.  On August 29, 1933, there was official confirmation that the Nazis were sending Jews to concentration camps, along with political prisoners.  While the Holocaust may have begun in 1933, Hitler's designation as "Fuehrer" and Himmler's new power in 1934 sealed its ongoing, tragic progress.

1934 + 70 = 2004. Major prophetic events 70 years apart?  What's next?
