Dear friends:
Shockingly, in the latest news from Israel (IsraelNationalNews.com) there is talk of a possible civil war over the highly controversial proposal of uprooting of Jewish settlements. Mention of possible civil war in Israel over the settlements is unsettling.
These settlements and the "right to the land" go to the heart of the Jewish state and its reason for existence, but Prime Minister Sharon is moving forward with his plan to remove them. From Israelnationalnews.com: "The key is in the hands of the Prime Minister," said MK Aryeh Eldad (National Union). "If he refrains from trying to uproot Jewish communities, there won't be a threat of a civil war.... The key is in the hands of the Prime Minister.... A civil war is truly the destruction of the Zionist enterprise; there is no doubt about this, and we have to do everything that we can."
Civil war in Israel seems unthinkable and totally bizarre, but when I read that this morning I recalled a message I wrote on February 17, 2000 about Dr. Jimmy DeYoung after listening to one of his tapes. Dr. DeYoung is an excellent Bible and prophecy scholar. He lives in Israel as a Christian journalist and has many inside government and religious contacts. For several years I have heard him give weekly updated news reports and commentary live from Israel on the Moody Radio Network, and I have seen him on the Day of Discovery television program.
On the tape DeYoung said that slain former Israeli Prime Minister Rabin came to the U.S. and in two different meetings held up a Bible and exclaimed, "This book has nothing to do with the present land of Israel." Shortly after this and upon returning to Israel, he was assassinated.
By the way, DeYoung has said on the radio that the rapture is extremely imminent, so close it could be any day or moment (this agrees with John Hagee, Hal Lindsey, and many others).
But this is my point, and is most unusual and amazingly meshes with the news today from Israel, four years after my year 2000 message. On the tape Dr. DeYoung spoke of the two nations, Israel and Judah, described in Ezekiel 37:15-28. He gives reasons why he says all 12 tribes are actually already back in the land (or at least God-intended portions of them), but that at about the time of the rapture they will again split into two nations, Israel and Judah. He said that the population already is severely split over policies, as we know, a prelude to a national split, he said then. He says he has actually seen a Constitution for the new nation of Judah and he reportedly showed a copy to a church audience!!!
Dr. Jimmy DeYoung's Web site is at http://www.prophecytoday.com
These are truly historic, profound and prophetic times in which we live. "Lord, we pray for the peace of Jerusalem as you commanded, but we also pray for your prophetic word and end-time events to come to pass in your perfect timing. Come, Lord Jesus."
