Dear friends:

Below is Agent 007's report # 3 from the Republican National Convention.

See my comments in bold.

Jim,

The Republican National Convention continues to go smoothly. The message emanating from the podium from the likes of Senator John McCain, former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and First Lady Laura Bush has been one of optimism, patriotism and looking to the future. In contrast, the demonstrations outside of Madison Square Garden have been a disorganized flop.  (Bramlett note: Proof of the spirit behind the anti-Bush demonstrators is the vile and obscene signs many are carrying.  They have no shame, but "like father, like son."  By the way, the Terminator was awesome.)

I was in the hall when the only real unplanned event occurred. In his speech on Monday night, Senator McCain referred to Michael Moore as a "disingenuous filmmaker." Senator McCain did not realize the Moore was seated in the press section of the convention hall as a credentialed USA Today reporter. The print reporters are seated behind the speakers but in plain view of the audience. So, most of the audience knew Moore was there and when McCain made his statement the place erupted into cheers of "four more years" and then boos for Moore was he was chanting in unison "two more months". Earlier in the day, Moore had been confronted by a convention delegate as he passed through one of the halls. She told him, that she was praying for him and he replied with an unprintable expletive.  (Bramlett note: I will be more blunt to further demonstrate the spirit behind these people.  I read that when this dear Christian lady witnessed Michael Moore, the Democrat hero who was  given a seat of honor at the Democrat convention, and said something to him about hoping he would be saved, he rudely replied, "F--- you.")

The only other situation occurred when a protester who had worked his way into the ranks of volunteers attempted to get close to Vice President Cheney. He made it within ten feet before the Secret Service got involved. He took a swing at a Secret Service agent which is never a good thing to do and now faces serious felony charges.

The only real controversy so far has been an interview that Alan Keyes was doing with Sirius Satellite Radio. Keyes was speaking about the family and said, "The essence of ... family life remains procreation. If we embrace homosexuality as a proper basis for marriage, we are saying that it's possible to have a marriage state that in principal excludes procreation and is based simply on the premise of selfish hedonism."

The interviewer then asked Mr. Keyes if Vice President Cheney' s daughter, Mary Cheney "is a selfish hedonist," which Keyes answered: "That goes by definition. Of course she is." (Bramlett note: I love Alan Keyes, who is never concerned about being politically correct!)

Mr. Cheney has never been one of my favorite members of the Bush administration and I found myself complaining to the Lord about recent remarks by Cheney that could be considered pro-homosexual. The Lord then asked me how much I have been praying for the Vice President and it caught me a bit off-guard. I have been praying often for President Bush but not doing the same for Vice President Cheney. I plan to immediately rectify that mistake.  (Bramlett note: I also love Dick Cheney, but do not agree with his remark about homosexuality, but I understand the pressure concerning his own daughter.)

The Vice President will speak tonight, accepting his nomination for a second term along with Keynote Speaker, Senator Zell Miller (D-SC). Then after the convention is ajourned for the evening the construction workers move in and place a round stage in the middle of the convention hall that will allow President Bush to address the convention "in the round".
