"MR. IVAN"
HELLO
Like
some others, I've been following the track of hurricane Ivan for some days
now on the "Hurricane Center" web site, and long before it recently became
a fresh news item.Back on
Saturday I believe it was, I was reading the "Discussion" section on the
HC web site, and read a rather unique comment in there about Ivan.
The
comment being that Ivan was/is "unprecedented" for the fact
that no hurricane has ever risen to so much strength, so
fast, and so early in its development, while as far south, as Ivan did
all these things, and this all occurring over relatively cold water, rather
than warm water, which is typically what is needed for development. So
I thought this to be a rather unique thing for keeping in mind, as Ivan
has maintained being a category four or five storm since the weekend until
most recently, and this is thought to be only a short term thing.
Ivan
is also tracking generally along the same track as Frances, as has also
been noted by others, but only slightly further south; meaning that unless
the track shifts a good deal over the coming days, the Miami area or the
Keys could be in the crosshair of a possible cat four or five hurricane
in a few days.
