I'm not sure whether your dream and the following scripture applies to you or your cousin or someone else; you would be the one in position to better observe and speak to that; but someone seems to be sort of stumbling along right now or has been.And actually, I think that is a fairly common occurrence to most of us at one point or another; but it just needs to be kept more in check and repented of immediately by us, so it doesn't become a common thing.Anyway, the following Scripture is what was given to me concerning your dream.

12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

The nails and metal in your dream signify that you or someone close to you either has, or will, or needs to crucify themselves with Christ Jesus, as spoken by the scripture above, so that old person ceases to live anymore, and so that Christ Jesus can come to live in the person, and then that new life is to then be lived out by Faith.
You felt no pain because the dream represented a Spiritual process, rather than a physical process. It is about going from certain spiritual death to Spiritual life that can only come by way of the Lord Jesus. That is what He was expressing to you; maybe for the possible reason of you expressing the same to another, maybe many.
You being shown in the work shop among all the tools is signified in verse 18 above. The verse is pretty much self explanatory with not much more comment needed from me; but just to say that if we go back to our old sins again, it is the same as rebuilding our former sinful life; which makes our former crucifixion to the flesh of no effect; and that is what the Holy Spirit by the Apostle Paul is basically saying there in Galatians.
Also, seeing your cousin who is the same age as you appearing as a child signifies the spiritual new birth, as well the becoming a new creature in Christ Jesus; so I have to assume that your cousin is now a Christian, or will become one.Of course, the whirlwind and the fire, both represented the Holy Spirit, which dwells within the person, and purges out the old world, so that the new Kingdom of God may preside.Much the same as real fire burns and blackens old existing brush, which is replaced by a brand new life of fresh greenery.Also,the chaff is gathered together to be burned as spoken by John Baptist, which was signified by your gathering all the brush together in the pile to be burned, and the Fire of the Lord God then comes in to consume the pile, but you, being the wheat is spared.
I think you have a fairly good understanding of what I'm saying your dream represented.It's all about where a person has came from, as opposed to where they're now going, in regard to Spiritual things.I don't believe your dream is a dire situation; but it could become one if a person would continue to live in opposition to the Lord Jesus, which is basically outside His Kingdom.But only you and or your cousin really knows how and where you stand with the Lord Jesus.That's not really anybody else's call to make--and certainly not mine.
