From what I am relearning from scripture-----I am starting to believe that trumpets and atonement are specifically being reserved for the salvation of the Jews during the tribulation------after God has chastised them for a while and they finally cry out for help--------The feast of trumpets will be used to call them to assembly and introspection while the feast of atonement will be used to cleanse and sanctify them of their sins------I truly don't see the church having a part in these two feasts-----we skipped them because we already accepted Christ into our lives to cleanse us and help us live holy-----so we heeded the trumpet call(the gospel) and are already atoned for, thus the next step for us is getting our redemption bodies which comes at tabernacles and is the conclusion of our redemtion process.
Reading the below scriptures from Joel confirms what I just said about trumpets and atonement being for the Jews:
Joel 2:
15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.
17 Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?
18 Then will the LORD be jealous for his land, and pity his people.
