"Sukkot Building 101"

Shalom All:

We have now passed Yom Kippur of this year - Friday to Saturday evening -
September 24/25.  Our sukkots should be under construction during this
BETWEEN the feasts time.  It is customary to begin right after the solemness
of Yom Kippur.  The construction time of the sukkot this year does not
include Sabbath or of course any part of the feast days.

The evening of September 29 your sukkot must be ready for use for that is when
Feast of Tabernacles begins.

Remember in building the sukkot - to start with a firm foundation.  In a soil
yard, four good corner "posts" pounded into the soil usually does it.  Other
situations will call for creative means!

Remember - the structure is NOT to be NAILED together!  Lash all connections.
Numerous connections bound with small cords are better than just a few
connections and with thick rope.  I speak from experience!

Remember -  the structure is to be temporary, temporary, TEMPORARY.  It is NOT
to stand for use the next year.  The LORD provides for each season.

Remember - the roof is to be open to the sky, covered only lightly with
branchy vegetation.  The stars and FULL MOON are to be visable as one sits,
eats, sleeps, "lives" in the sukkot for the week of time.  Being in WI that
sleep part of living is ... well ... postponed for years when Feast of
Tabernacles comes early.  Brrrrrrrr!

Decorating of the sukkot reflects each family's individualilty.  We do use
artificial fruit hung from the roof/ceiling.  It stands up to the rain/cold
that we have here in WI.  White twinkle lights strung around where the
"ceiling" and "walls" meet give nice illumination when the clouds hide the
moon which in WI can be often during this time!  The "walls" for us are
rainbow striped fabric panels that remind us of YHVH's Rainbow promise to
Noah.  Very fitting now for the time we are living in.

Remember and treasure the lessons Ruach HaKodesh gives you as you (and family)
construct and use your sukkot for this year ... and recall those of the past.

Remember Yeshua was birthed at this time and kings were married and coronated
at their birthday.

PS  The years we didn't have a yard to build a sukkot, we "built" one afixed
to our dining room table in the apartment!
