In the morning I usually watch Les Feldick tapes while I walk on the treadmill. This morning Les was talking about II Timothy chapter 2. Les emphasized that we need to "major on the majors and minor on the minors". In other words, it does no good to argue about insignificant things.
There have been a lot of posts lately about the presidential election. We doves tend to be fairly civil even when we disagree but we have not pulled all of our punches and we have definitely stepped on some toes. There seem to be three points of view:1. President Bush is a christian and a far better choice than Kerry.
2. We should vote for a candidate whose values match ours even if he can't win.
3. President Bush is not a christian and just as bad as Kerry, maybe worse.
We will not know the truth about President Bush with certainty while we are still on the earth. If Jesus returns in the next few weeks, He will probably be disappointed to find us arguing over "minors".
