‘Then Jesus came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. As was His custom, He entered the Synagogue on the Sabbath. And when He stood up to read, the Scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. Unrolling it, He found the place where it was written:
- The Spirit of the Lord is on Me,
- because He has anointed Me
- to preach Good News to the poor.
- He has sent Me to proclaim Liberty to the Captives
- and recovery of sight to the blind,
- to release the oppressed,
- to proclaim the Year of the LORD’s favor.
Then He rolled up the scroll, returned it to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the Synagogue were fixed on Him, and He began by saying, Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.’ -Luke 4:16-20
The purpose of this study is to present the theory that strongly suggests when the true years of the Jubilees occur. Or a better question is, at the end of when Sabbatical Cycle will Jesus be returning? One Jubilee Year can be determined as the year that corresponded in Jesus’ life, when Jesus read aloud in the Synagogue at Nazareth the portion of the Isaiah scroll. It was also at the start of His ministry and based on Jesus’ birthday. With this timeline identified, one can possibly calibrate all Jubilee year, past and future. It must be understood that a Year of Jubilee always follows a Sabbatical Cycle of 7 years x 7 times or 49 years total. In this case, the 50th year would constitute the Jubilee Year and that is what Jesus stated was ‘fulfilled in their hearing’. Thus, the theory contents that in turn, one can calculate when Jesus will return to Earth. It will likewise coincide with an end to a Sabbatical Cycle of 7 years, as in Daniels’ 70th.
One only needs to calculate from the date of His birth, to determine with accuracy all the years of the subsequent Sabbatical Cycles of 7 years and then Jubilee Years. Both times will thus correspondence in tandem to Jesus’ start of His ministry and His return. Can this assertion be possible to calculate and reliable? As noted, the premise is based on Jesus’ birthday and how YHVH appears to delineate time by the Creation Pattern of weeks, months, and years, etc. Following is the argument and calculation based on the Sabbatical Cycles of time. If -3 BC was Jesus’ birthday as many purport, then it would have been in 28 AD when Jesus had read publicly the portion of Isaiah that declared the Jubilee Year. This would have but the year 27 AD as the end of the Sabbatical Cycle of 7 years and 49th.
Pieces of the Puzzle
Based on what one calls the Isaiah 61 Jubilee Theory, it would mean then that 2022 would be the start of a 7-year Sabbatical Cycle, the 45th segment since 27 AD. Then 2028 would be the end of the Sabbatical Cycle and return of Jesus in 2029. What this theory is thus strongly suggesting is that this timeframe 2022-2028 cycle would correspond to Daniel’s 70th Week of Years, which happens to also correspond to the 70th Jubilee segment of time and the 495th Sabbatical Cycle since Israel crossed the Jordan into the Promised Land. Jesus is to return then in 2029 on Yom Teruah, the anniversary month of His birth no less. The theory basis the correct Jubilee Year sequences or cycles on several key historical factors that will then be triangulated. As noted, the first piece of evidence is the supposed birthday of Jesus that sets the time.
The birth is believed to have been on September 11, -3 BC and would thus set the coefficient for the calculation of years thereafter. The birth of Jesus in -3 BC corroborated astronomically with the dual conjunctions of Jupiter-Venus in Leo leading up to this time. It was precisely on -3 BC during Yom Teruah when Jupiter, the King Planet and of the Messiah that conjoined with the Star of Regulus, 3 times in an amazing retrograde. This is the King Star in the constellation of the King, Leo. Such astronomical Signs were proof enough for the Wise Men to have anticipated and searched-out the King by. They knew that such astronomical alignments pointed to the bodily birth of the King, Jesus, the Son of GOD, that is GOD the Son come in the flesh. He would be the long-awaited Messiah that Isaiah also foretold about.
The purpose of this study is to simply present a theory that is based on astronomy, history and logical implications to extrapolate such predictions of a 2022-2028 timeline. It is not dogmatic, although seemingly a prediction but only attempting to corroborate the true date of the Jubilee Years by way of the Sabbatical Cycles of time. Others have also come to the same 2022-2028 calculations and conclusion. In the case of the Isaiah 61 Jubilee Year Theory based on Jesus’ birthday and reading of Isaiah, the calculation is not meant to be complicated or to confuse the issue more than it is already. There is an endless debate about what year is really the Jubilee. But with the -3 BC year benchmark as the template of time based on Jesus’ life and Sabbatical Cycles of time, 27 AD was the 7th year of that Sabbatical Cycle. Thus, 28 AD – 2028 AD = 2000 years.
This calculation appears to ascertain with more accuracy the key points that pertain to when the Jubilee Year count was in sync to Jesus’ life and will be. The next piece of evidence is how the reading of Isaiah by Jesus at the Synagogue of Nazareth appears to pinpoint the year of the Jubilee. How so? It is believed that due to Jesus’ exclamation, the language of the Jubilee Year of ‘release’ and ‘liberty’ was a direct inference in the reading and correspondence prophesied in Isaiah. And that in the hearing of the prophecy and promise, Jesus declared it so, thus the Jubilee Year, in 28 AD. It is rather amazing that in the proclamation of Isaiah, there are 7 points of promise that are now being fulfilled. Sadly, Israel as a Nation rejected this proclamation and Jesus as the Messiah. The Jews did not want a ‘spiritual’ inward application but an outward military and political Messiah. It is for this reason that such a proclamation then went to the Gentiles instead and how millions if not billions have received this Gospel.
Even to this day, Israel is waiting for such a man that will precisely fill that ‘Messiah’ position for them. Sadly, it will be a false one as Jesus warned them. And as many have noted, Jesus did not read the 8th point, ‘and to execute the vengeance of our God’. That will take place during the Tribulation Period. Why is this 28 AD year significant then? It is because it was at this time that Jesus then needed to have started His public ministry at the age of 29 years old going into that year. This would have to be in keeping to His age, being 33.3 at the time of His crucifixion, burial and resurrection then in 32 AD. Again, it is based on Jesus’ birth since -3BC. Thus, 28 AD was the Jubilee Year. For context, prior to the reading of the Isaiah scroll portion, Jesus had to be testing and approved for His commission that lasted for 3.5 years or around 1260 days.
Jesus had to first be ‘tested’ for 40 days and nights in the wilderness as one emerging thereafter qualified and true to His commission. The number 40 signifies ‘trial’ as the was the time for example, the Israelites also were tested in the wilderness before they could ‘qualify’ and be worthy to enter the Promised Land. It was then necessary for Jesus to be recognized publicly as the Anointed of YHVH at His baptism and introduced by John the Baptist. It was not for Himself as He had no Sin Nature but took the place of Adam’s fallen race instead. As noted, from 28 AD, there will be a 40x Sabbatical Cycles that leads then to the concluding one of 2022-2028 and Jesus’ return in 2029. This will be spelled-out in the study calculations below with the numerical calculations.
1987/1988 = 40th Sabbatical Cycle *segment since Jesus read Isaiah and 70th since Israel entered Land.
*A segment is the 7 Sabbatical Cycles x 7 times or 49-year span of time.
285 Sabbatical Cycles of 7-year cycles of since 27 AD = 1995 years + 27 AD = 2022
28 AD + 50** years(40x Jubilees) = 2000 + 28 AD + 1 = 2029 – 7 = 2022
**Jubilees are not counted by 50s. This is an alternative count for perspective. The accurate count is 49 years. The 50th year is the 1st year of the following 49-year cycle on Yom Kippur.
2022 + 7 years = 2029 Yom Teruah (assuming a given date in 2022 + 1260 days in)
With these 2 key pinpoints of historical fact, the -3 BC starting point and the 28 AD correlation as being the Jubilee Year that correlated to the start of Jesus’ ministry, one can then extrapolate when the Sabbatical and Jubilee Cycles will thus occur and in turn when Daniel’s 70th Week of Years and Jesus’ return. It might be astonishing to think so or bold, but it is a theory to consider, nonetheless. Based on this Isaiah 61 Jubilee Year Theory timeline, Jesus was 30 years old in 28 AD. It was the occasion where He read the Isaiah 61 portion of Scripture in the Synagogue of Nazareth. And to reiterate, it was the 30th Sabbatical Cycle since Israel crossed into the Promised Land. This was believed to be on Passover during Joshua’s day. And then now how it paralleled another ‘Joshua’ in 28 AD to come. By the way, Joshua mean ‘Yah Saves’. If this theory is accurate and reliable, it will also then determine the events of Passion Week as well.
What is a Jubilee Year?
The Isaiah 61 Jubilee Year Theory would suggest then that at the age of His 33rd year, in the year 32 AD is when He was crucified, etc. To reiterate, given these correlations and benchmarks of time, it would then suggest that the year 2022 is when the last Sabbatical Cycle would need to occur. It would be right in the middle of the 70th Jubilee segment and thus could be the probable start of the Tribulation Period to coincide with Daniel’s last 70th Week of Years as noted. A Jubilee Year is proclaimed after every 7th Sabbath Year or Cycle. The count is not 50+50+50 as Jubilee Cycles of 50 years falls out of sync with the Sabbath Year Cycle because 50 is not a multiple of 7. Only a Jubilee Year on a 49th year cycle stays in sync (7 years x 7 cycles = 49 years total), etc.
It should be noted that based on Leviticus, the actual count is like that of Pentecost. It is a factor of 49 days or years in the case of the Jubilees. So, in the case of Jesus having read the Isaiah portion on 28 AD, that would have been the 50th year and would have made the year 27AD the completion of the 49th year Sabbatical Cycles of 7 years each. For example, based on the timeline of Jubilees, the 70th Sabbatical Cycle since Israel entered the Promised Land began in the year 1987 with 1988 being the Jubilee Year. A subsequent counting of 49 Jubilees is considered a Grand Jubilee. A Grand Jubilee is 490 years or 70 cycles of 7 years. Which in this case for 1988 was the 490th Sabbatical Cycle from Israel’s entering the Promised Land. Or in other words, the completion of the 70th Jubilee in 2036 will also coincide with the Grand Jubilee 14 years ( 7-7) after Jesus’ return in 2029, if the Isaiah 61 Jubilee Year Theory turns out to be true.
As noted, the Jubilee Years are a factor of 7 Sabbatical Cycle of 7 years. This is YHVH’s perfect number and a microcosm of the Creation Week template of tracking divine time. What is the Jubilee and how did it get started? According to the Bible, the count started when Israel crossed over the Jordan River led by Joshua into the Promised Land. YHVH instructed the Israelites to not only keep the Weekly Sabbath, on the 7th Day to observe and not work but to then count 7 Weeks or 49 days for determining Pentecost. Then every 49 years, the Jubilee would be proclaimed on the 50th year at Yom Kippur. It would be a time where the land would be left to rest, and all debts and land sold would revert back to the original owners. It was a time of a ‘Reset’ where slaves and servant were set free, debts cancelled, etc. It provided a way for the economy, people and land to abolish indebtedness.
However, the Jews neglected the Land, YHVH’s People and the 7th Sabbaths for profit. For that, Israel owned 70 years to YHVH. That was 10 cycles of 7 Week of Years that Israel had to pay back to YHVH. This translated in the amount of years the Jews spent in Babylon as captives due to their greed. Here is the Jubilee account in Leviticus 25:8-10. ‘You are to count 7 Sabbatical Years, 7 times 7 years, so that the time period of the 7 Sabbatical Years amounts to 49. Then you are to sound a trumpet loudly in the 7 month, on the 10 [day] of the month; you will sound it throughout your land on the Day of Atonement. You are to consecrate the 50th year and proclaim freedom in the land for all its inhabitants. It will be your Jubilee, when each of you is to return to his property and each of you to his clan.’ How the Jubilees play into the Last Days prophecy of the soon Rapture event and return of Jesus is seen in the book of Daniel.
The last Sabbatical Cycle of 7 years to complete the 490 years total for Israel’s discipline has been paused presently, much like the Isaiah passage. Only 69 weeks or 483 years have elapsed pertaining to the judgment and disciple of Israel for their sins. There still remains 1 Week of Years. This is what will pertain to the last Sabbatical Cycle or Shemitah that will be the 7-year Tribulation Period. Are there any other historical corroborations to lend credence to the Isaiah 61 Jubilee Year Theory count? Yes. According to William Whiston's footnotes to Josephus. Based on Josephus’ calculations, -24 BC was a Sabbatical Year, and -23 BC was the Jubilee Year. This would confirm the timeline that 27 AD was indeed a Sabbatical Year, and 28 AD was a Jubilee Year, the exact year Jesus read aloud the Jubilee proclamation from Isaiah.
Whiston's schedule also puts 70 AD as a Sabbatical Year, the year the 2nd Temple was destroyed. To reiterate, if this is true, then the next Sabbatical Cycle of 7 years would correspond to 2022-2028. As noted, it would occur in the midst of the 70th cycle of Jubilees since Israel entered the Promised Land and the 40th since 28 AD when Jesus read Isaiah and exactly 2000 years since reading Isaiah. It would make 2029 the 1st year of the next cycle. Thus, if true, it will signify that 2029 will be the year Jesus returns. This then means that if one subtracts the last Sabbatical Cycle of 7 years to be Daniels 70th Week of Year, that will mean that the Tribulation Period would start sometime in 2022 then. Another source that corroborated this Isaiah 61 Jubilee Year Theory is Sir Robert Anderson. In his publication, ‘The Coming Prince’, he developed a chronology by using the 360-day year count, which he called the ‘Prophetic Year’.
Although many would disagree with his calculations and conclusion, it does corroborate this theory of Jubilee Years presented in this paper. Anderson based his calculations on the clear implication that the prophetic timetable of Daniel was derived from it. He began the 483-year countdown with the Decree of Artaxerxes of March 14, -445 BC. This was calculation that culminated then in Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem on April 6, 32 AD, which was Nisan 10. It was exactly the time as the Passover lambs had to be examined before being sacrificed on the 14th day of the 1st month, etc. Another sub-theory that will be briefly introduced here is in keeping with the typologies of Christ, being the ‘Last Adam’. If Jesus were 33-year-old when He was crucified for Adam’s transgression, would it not be plausible and probably that it was the years that Adam had when he and Eve sinned and fell from grace?
This would strongly suggest then that it was on the 33rd year, after Creation Week that this occurred. And more precisely that it occurred on Nissan 14 and on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem. This of course would mean that the Gate or one of the ‘Doors’ to enter in the ‘midst’ of the Garden of Eden was there and from where they were expelled from. Thus, the Temple Mount having the Temple would be where the Altar was at that YHHV set up and sacrificed the 1st lamb as a ‘Passover’ type to cover the bodies of Adam and Eve with its sinks. This is of course pure conjecture, but one wonders, based on the typology taken to its logical extrapolation. Why this is perhaps relevant though is that the 33rd year thus became the 50th year Jubilee and from where the true count originated from.
This is assuming Creation began in 4005 BC,(no year 0) based on Bishop James Ussher’s 17th Century book, ‘The Annals of the World’. So, it is argued by some that the start of the Jubilee Year countdown started after the first 33 years and ending the Age of Innocence on -3972 BC. If such an assertion is true or valid, then the Jubilee Years started their counting at the 33rd year marker from Creation. Thus, 50 years later, the 1st Jubilee would have occurred on -3923 BC. As to how this is all relevant to the Last Days and end of the Church Age? This Isaiah 61 Jubilee Year Theory is thus strongly suggesting is that this timeframe 2022-2028 would correspond to Daniel’s 70th Week of Years.
To reiterate, if the -3 BC date of Yom Teruah is indeed Jesus’ birthday, then that would lead to Jesus being 33 years old in the year 32 AD. This in turn would mean that if one subtracts 1260 days or 3.5 days from April 14, 32 AD when Jesus was then crucified, that timeframe would be in October of the year 28 AD. And that is when Yom Kippur would occur as that is when the Jubilee Year is mandated to be announced. And this would also be the cause that from that point forward, Jesus began His public ministry.
April 14, 32 AD – 1260 days or 3.5 years = October of 28 AD around Yom Kippur
It would be exactly a 2000-year anniversary since 28 AD in which Jesus read publicly the Jubilee Year declaration on that year’s Yom Kippur. And in relation to the 2022-2029 Sabbatical Cycle, it would be in the year 2029 that is thus calculated that Jesu would return. There is then good news for those Followers of Jesus base on these bold assertion. The time remaining is pegged to the Sabbatical Cycles since Jesus proclaiming the Jubilee. Thus, if such a notion is true, then this theory strongly suggest that the Rapture event is that much closer and as the timeline suggests it is then to take place sometime in 2021! Why?
It is because based on the 2 Thessalonians 2 passage, the ‘Departure’ has to occur before the AntiChrist is to be revealed and that takes place just before the 2022-2028 Sabbatical Cycle of 7 years to prepare his New World Order. What this could possibly mean, if the theory is valid is that one does not have decades, years to wait any longer, but merely months now. If one thing is for sure regarding this study and its amazing timeline projections, it is that the Church Age is about to conclude. It is just that close as the Sabbatical Cycles will converge within this last segment of the 70th Jubilee Cycle since Israel crossed into the Promised Land and Jesus read from Isaiah to proclaim the Year of the LORD’s favor and Jesus is about to set the Bride of Christ free from this world!
