Is Sandy in the Bible?
In most English Bible translations the word sandy is not to be found (I checked several translations on www.biblegateway.com). In at least three translations, however, there are very interesting contexts when the word sandy appears. I have presented these below, with just limited comment.
Amplified (the translation I read mainly): the Rise of Antichrist! Revelation 13:1-3
13 [As] I stood on the sandy beach, I saw a beast coming up out of the sea with ten horns and seven heads. On his horns he had ten royal crowns (diadems) and blasphemous titles (names) on his heads.
2 And the beast that I saw resembled a leopard, but his feet were like those of a bear and his mouth was like that of a lion. And to him the dragon gave his [own] might and power and his [own] throne and great dominion.
3 And one of his heads seemed to have a deadly wound. But his death stroke was healed; and the whole earth went after the beast in amazement and admiration.
The Message: Storm Warning! Matthew 7:26-27
But if you just use my words in Bible studies and don’t work them into your life, you are like a stupid carpenter who built his house on the sandy beach. When a storm rolled in and the waves came up, it collapsed like a house of cards.
New International Version: Paul’s Shipwreck! Acts 27:39-40
Warning for the Church?
39 When daylight came, they did not recognise the land, but they saw a bay with a sandy beach, where they decided to run the ship aground if they could. 40 Cutting loose the anchors, they left them in the sea and at the same time untied the ropes that held the rudders. Then they hoisted the foresail to the wind and made for the beach.
Food for thought!
