"To Randy and the sense of smell"

Randy I can identify with your loss of smell since I lost mine more than fifteen years ago.
Adjusting to this condition is an inevitable part of life for some people as they age.
I try to look at it from the point of view that of all the things that start to go wrong as our bodies age this is not the worst of them.
The old saying says that you do not know what you have till you loose it and in this case it is doubly true.
The pleasures that come from smell which we take for granted are enormous. The sense of taste is very much related to smell and only the basic tastes do not use smell.
Saltiness, bitter, acid, hot like hot sauce, texture may remain to give some enjoyment.
A great benefit is that I get a lot of please change the diaper when our grandson needs changing or when he vomited. You get no pleasant smells like flowers, but you get no unpleasant ones.

In the future this condition may be solved by science, but I am looking forward to my resurrected body and that wedding feast with all the heavenly dishes prepared in the heavenly kitchen by angels.
