"A Study in James"

Hello, John and Doves,

Once again, here is a study to occupy mind and heart while we wait for our hearts' desire to come for us.

A Study in James

James key verse:

“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”  James 4:8

Tanakh (Old Testament) tie-in:

“Blessed is the man who walks not after the counsel of the ungodly,

nor stands in the way of sinners,

nor sits in the seat of the scornful,

“But his delight is in the law of the LORD,

and in His law does he meditate day and night.

“And he shall be like the trees planted alongside the river,

that bring forth their fruit in their season.

His leaf also shall not wither,

and everything he does shall prosper.

“The ungodly are not so,

but are like the chaff which the wind drives away.

“Therefore the ungodly will not stand in the judgment,

nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

“For the LORD knows the way of the righteous,

but the way of the sinner will perish.”  Psalm 1

Jesus says,

“ ‘Come to Me all ye who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.’ ”  Matthew 11:28

Isaiah tie-in:

“The arm of the LORD is not short that He cannot save, nor His ear dull that He cannot hear.”  Isaiah 59:1
