The Coming 1 (One) and 11 November 11
The first coming: And as John (the Baptist) was ending his course, he asked, What or who do you secretly think that I am? I am not He [the Christ. No], but note that after me One is coming, the sandals of Whose feet I am not worthy to untie! Acts 13:25
The second coming: For still a little while (a very little while), and the Coming One will come and He will not delay. Hebrews 10:37
In Hebrews10:37 there is a pronounced emphasis on Jesus Christ as the Coming One. With all the signs of His imminent Return, 11 November this year is an important date to watch. It is also noteworthy that 9 November is 9.11 as Australians write dates. Apart from the uniqueness of such a date as 11.11.11, this is a sign to the world of the Coming Prince of Peace, the only One who will bring peace to the world. This day, this year is 93 years from the end of the ‘War to end all Wars’’, on 11 November 1918. More importantly it is seven solar years from the 100 years celebration of Remembrance/Veterans Day that is celebrated in many countries.
Remembrance/Veterans Day (Lest we forget!)
World War I: Germany signs an armistice agreement with the Allies in a railroad car in the forest of Compiègne, France. The fighting officially ends at 11:00 (the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month) and this is annually honoured with a two-minute silence. The time of remembrance this year will be: 11th hour, 11th day, 11th month, 2011. We also remember the One who won a great victory for us on the Cross:
Lest I forget Gethsemane
Lest I forget Thine agony
Lest I forget Thy love for me
Lead me to Calvary.
