"to Patty, thanks for the Roddenberry info"

We are a huge 'geek' family here! lol. I didn't know about Gene's early days. I just knew that Gene had more writing background in Westerns, and presented Star Trek as 'Wagon Train in Space'. He only wrote/co-wrote 11 of the 79 episodes.

I really enjoyed the Documentary "The Science of Star Trek", http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0274079/
it's amazing how the little boys watching the show actually grew up and MADE those things that Matt Jefferies, his brother John, designed the ship, phasers and the bridge (he did have a background in the military. Wah Chang was the designer of the flip open communicator, which influenced the design of cell phones. He also designed the medical 'tricorder'...which is very similar to the newest thermometers they use at the doctors! They don't even touch your skin!

Anyway, life imitating art and vice versa. In these stories, they are innocent, using a tv show to move along social issues like racism, they did play with anti-religious and anti-establishment themes, but with such a large corral of writers, there were some patriotic and pro-faith stories too.

Now, back to the original thoughts we've all been talking about lately, the new movies that are coming out in the next few weeks are not the 'final frontier' of a peaceful people looking for 'new life and new civilizations'...but the frightening fare that Hollywood is vomiting on us will 'boldly go where no one has gone before'!

*see, told you I was a geek!!*

Blessings~
