"To Mike Re: Druid silliness"
I'm glad to see someone (besides my girls)
has my wicked sense of humor! That was the first thing I thought of
too! My girls are very into theater, photography and I've been making
them costumes their whole lives. The combined hobbies have us doing
what is known as 'cosplay'. Basically, dress up for adults! I usually
make the costumes from some popular movie or book (Disney's Snow White
and Alice in Wonderland, etc) and the oldest daughter will do a photo
shoot of them all in character parts. It's just a fun past time we
enjoy as a family.
My daughter said she wanted to do a
'Spaceballs' cosplay, I'd been keeping my eyes open at yardsales and
thrift shops for an over the top, puffy sleeved wedding dress for
Princess Vespa, the "Druish Princess" (of course, Mel Brooks' play on
Jewish Princess). I found the perfect dress one day, and when I showed
it to her (oh, and we have a pair of 'ear muffs' that have the hair
buns too), we both laughed (it fit her perfectly) and said, " 1, 800, D
R U I D I A" (a joke on her calling her daddy for help).
On a
serious note. It doesn't surprise me that Druids are getting recognized
as a religion...they ARE one. It's just, almost laughable that
Christians are getting more and more persecuted, and these
pagan/neo-pagan religions are becoming 'mainstream'.
Rejoice! We were told these days were coming!
Blessings~
