"The Evil Eye"
Braylon Edwards (Police booking photo)
The
above picture is the booking photo of Braylon Edwards after his recent
arrest--he is a wide receiver for the New York Jets. Obviously his
right eye is much darker than his left eye with no lighting or angling
being the reason for the difference. In no way am I purposely singling
him out or judging. I just think this particular picture clearly shows
what the Lord has showed me over the last 4-5 years.
The
idea of the "evil eye" (not eyes) in Jewish tradition is real. Whether
it means Satan has access to "half" or a portion of a person, I'm not
positive, but it does have spiritual significance. I believe it can
help us discern spirits working through people if we are sensitive to
it. It also shows the danger of "opening" ourselves up to demonic
influence or control when we drink alcohol, do drugs, or sin any other
way against God. I believe this is part of how knowing the truth sets
us free. An atheist doesn't believe in God or the devil, and has no
clue how dangerous those paths to darkness are. When we know about the
spiritual realm and fear God, we won't make those mistakes. Though the
phrase "wolves in sheeps' clothing" may be obvious to some, others
don't realize that the wolves are demons and the sheeps' clothing is
the human body that the darkness works through.
The Lord
speaks to me through music at times. About 5 years ago, a song called
"One Headlight" by Jakob Dylan (Bob Dylan's son) came on my radio over
and over, with the main chorus lyrics stating, "We can drive it home
with one headlight..". Naturally, I kept picturing car headlights with
only one shining. Until one day I was looking through some pictures and
he quickened it again--of course one "head" light is the eye. There are
many other relevant parts to the song lyrics including "so long ago I
don't remember when, that's when they say I lost my only friend" and
"the long broken arm of human law" and more.
