I remember reading an article many years ago
stating that Stock Exchanges would merge as part of the World Government
plan.
After a short trawl though all my stuff filed under
"Money and MOB" I failed to locate it.
However, I did find an 8 page press release
from Business Sunday, Channel Nine, Sydney, NSW dated 10/30/1996.
Fourteen years old. The programme was about the
planned floating of the ASX (Australian Stock Exchange).
The choice extract has to be this -
Q: Don't you see the irony in it? You are listing
to expand globally and you could end up being taken over by a foreign exchange
yourself?
Mr Newman (then Chairman ASX) : Yes, we could be
but I think it is unlikely. - end quote.
Now we see the planned merging of Singapore and
Australian stock exchanges.
Singapore? Isn't that where you live, John?
But seriously, we see the world shrinking by this
planned merger.
