Oct 20, 2010 The Two Witnesses Ministry a Comment to Alan Clark leave a comment » The Two Witnesses Ministry The article of the two witnesses that Alan Clark has posted concludes that the two witnesses’ ministry occurs in the last 1260 days of the Tribulations. His position is validated by the fact that the Temple is to be standing when the two witnesses start and the city is to be trample by the gentiles during a period of 42 months. The article further refers to John Mac Arthur’s Bible where he puts the two witnesses in the second have. First I would say that after listening to John’s radio program daily for more than 25 years I value his opinion very highly. He is one of the best Bible teachers that I have heard. Second the paragraph containing the Temple seems to say that their testimony is during this time. That said, the conclusion they reach about the location in time within the Tribulation I believe is wrong. On verse seven the Beast that comes out of the Abyss will attack them and kill them. This killing ends the second woe which is the sixth trumpet judgment. After this the seventh trumpet was blown and we see that the woman fled into the desert where she might be taken care for 1260 days. To put these two events occurring at the same time will break the consecutive (occurring one after the other) flow of the seals, trumpets and bowls that the text demands. It also is not correct to assume that the beast that kills the two witnesses comes out to kill the two witnesses and then face Jesus at His second coming. This beast will rule in possession of the Antichrist for the last half of the Tribulation. Another possibility to consider is that the Temple is already built at the start of the Tribulations or that it is a Tabernacle like the one in the Exodus and that the masonry construction of the Temple is accomplished around the tent Tabernacle during the first half of the Tribulations. One thing is for sure, the Nation of Israel must be in complete control of the Mount to be able to set the Tabernacle and worship at Temple mount, things that at present are not possible. But if the Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38-39 wars occur they will be in control of the mount. Well these are my thoughts on this very difficult subject and what is true may be different to anything said in here. None the less it is very spiritually rewarding to scrutinize these difficult subjects and I thank Alan for his thoughts and opinions. The other day I was reading my back-up Bible a “New Living Testament” (See below) and it clearly states that they will will prophesy during those 1,260 days or 42 months that the Holy City will be trampled.  Then I pulled out a John MacArthur Study Bible he says they are given their power and are used “during the second half of the Tribulation”. In verse one John is told to “measure the Temple of God” so it seems that the Temple is standing when the Two Witnesses are introduced to us. Revelation 11:1-3  The Two Witnesses 1 Then I was given a measuring stick, and I was told, “Go and measure the Temple of God and the altar, and count the number of worshipers. 2 But do not measure the outer courtyard, for it has been turned over to the nations. They will trample the holy city for 42 months. 3 And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will be clothed in sackcloth and will prophesy during those 1,260 days.” NLT
