"Unusual occurrence"

I am currently working on the Brooklyn side of the New York Harbor. For those of you who aren't familiar with the configuration Manhattan is bordered by two rivers...The Hudson River on the West Side and the East River on the east side. These two tivers converge into the New York Harbor which is bordered by parts of NJ, Staten Island and Brooklyn. The habor grants access to the Atantic Ocean by way of the Verazzano Narrows.

I have a unbelievable view of the harbor and all of the ship traffic in and out. While cotainers ships, barges ferries and tugs are normal traffic during the week...seeing a large luxury yacht is unusual.

Over the past two days the number of large luxury yachts passing through the harbor into the ocean has increased exponentially. I must have seen 20 yachts headed on out today alone. When I speak of yachts I mean super luxury vessels ranging between 75 and almost 200 ft with a multi - million dollar price price tags. ( I am a boating fanatic)

I found it unusual due to the fact that there were so many, and it is a Wednesday. It makes me think that there's some kind of "exodus" of wealthy people taking place. Maybe they know something we dont. Take it for what its worth but it makes me think of rats fleeing a sinking ship.

Id be eager to hear if any one else has experienced and unusual occurrences of late.

YBIC,

Mike
