Alan quoted from how the NLT says the 2 witnesses will prophecy during "those" 1,260 days the temple is trampled on. Most translations do not say that and it doesn't have the word "those" in the original language. The NLT has modified the word of God by adding the word "those" in its translation. Rev 11:3 simple says the two witnesses will prophecy for 1,260 days, with no wording suggesting it has to be the same 1,260 days the temple is owned by Gentiles. In fact, it can't , because we're also told their dead bodies will lie in the streets for 3.5 days before they are resurrected (See Rev 11:11). The 3.5 day gap means they CAN'T fit into the LAST 1,260 days before the return of the Messiah.Furthermore, the two witnesses are mentioned as part of the 2nd woe, outlined for us as ....
Woe 1: (Rev 8:13-9:11) Rev 9:10 says at least 5 months. Woe 2: (Rev 9:13-11:13) 1/3 of mankind destroyed, the 7 thunders, and 42 months of the two witnesses PLUS 3.5 days after the 1,260 days the two witnesses witness. Woe 3: (Rev 11:15 onward) Final 42 months before Messiah returns.Joe
