God created the heavens and the earth; he measures time with the Sun, Moon and Stars, and he stretches out the heavens and changes the times. On the first day God created the heavens and the earth and hung the earth from nothing: That was the first day when he spoke it into being.
Job 26:7 “He stretches out the north over the empty place, and hangs the earth upon nothing."
Then God created the Sun, Planets, Moon and Stars on the fourth day. He placed them in the heavens above us to give us our times and seasons and years.
Genesis 1:14, 19 “God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:” “And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.”
Ezra said: “He has weighed the world in the balance, and has measured the times with a measure, and carefully counted the hours, and he will not move or disturb them, until the prescribed measure is reached” [2 Esdras 4:36-37] Daniel said: “this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. This is the interpretation of the thing: Mene; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. Tekel; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. Peres; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.” [Dan 5:25-28] John said: Rev. 11:1 “there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.” What is the temple? “ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” [2 Cor. 6:16] Who changes the times? “he changes the times and the seasons: he removes kings, and sets up kings: he gives wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:” [Daniel 2:21] Who is he? It is God the creator of heaven and earth.
Someone else will attempt to do the same. “he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.” [Daniel 7:25] That has already happened. We have been given the Julian calendar and the Gregorian calendar and the Hebrew calendar does not reflect the many years since Adam was placed in the Garden of Eden. That garden was this physical earth. “And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.” [Genesis 2:8]
Since the earth was created first there was no sun to circle: It was hung in the center then on the fourth day our "time" markers were placed in the heavens above us. The stars in the constellations circle us in 365 and ¼ days from east to west: The sun, moon and planets circle us in 365 and ¼ days going from west to east. When a certain star [not planet] meets the horizon on a certain day that begins the yearly count and ends 365 and ¼ days later. The earth turns completly in 24 hours thus sun, planets, moon and the stars all appear to come up in the east for that is the direction the earth is turning.
We now measure from Greenwich, England at midnight Dec 21 when that particular star transits the heavens every year. Today it is on the 33rd degree S. Lat. When Christ was born it met the sun on the 23rd degree S. Lat. at the winter solstice.
The stars circle the earth laterally and the sun circles the earth diagonally. We see the sun moving through the constellations [zodiac] called the ecliptic [path]: The precession of the equinoxes is caused by the shifting southward of the constellations by 10 degrees every 2,000 years: That changes the pole star and changes the equinoxes: We do not spin like a top, or wobble on an axis, but we do shake, rattle and roll during an earthquake.
There is one time in ancient history during Joshua’s day that the poles reversed twice making his Long Day 36 hours in duration. It was probably at one of the equinoxes where the days are equal. The end of the day of 12 hours Joshua told the sun to stand still and it did. The earth then began to turn from north to south and back to north. So at the end of the second full 24 hours the sun went down completing 36 hours. Nothing ever stopped moving for if it had the universe would have collapsed. The rocks record these reversals.
In the book of Jasher 88:64 “And the Lord hearkened to the voice of Joshua, and the sun stood still in the midst of the heavens, and it stood still six and thirty six moments [hours], and the moon also stood still and hastened not to go down a whole day. And there was no day like that, before it or after it, that the Lord hearkened to the voice of a man, for the Lord fought for Israel.”
[Joshua 10:12-14 “Then spoke Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. And there was no day like that before it or after it that the Lord hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel.”
In the year 2000 on May 3rd the heavenly menorah spoken of by Josephus had the planets Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, Sun, Venus, Mercury, and Moon lined up around Aries the Lamb. The sun represented the eternal flame: Once it goes out all the rest will vanish as well. Peter said: 2 Peter 3:10 “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” Malachi said: “For, behold, the day comes, that shall burn as an oven;” [Malachi 4:1]
