"To Clay Cantrell -- Peleg, the Exodus, & the Splitting"
In reply to you 10/18 posts at http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/oct2010/clay1018.htm and http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/oct2010/clay1018-2.htm while
it is true that Eber lived 430 years after the birth of his
son Peleg whose name means division or earthquake, Eber was not 430 years
old at the time Peleg was born if you recheck Genesis 11:16 which says, "And
Eber lived four and thirty years and begat Peleg." Instead of that verse
saying four hundred and thirty years, it is referring to 34 years. This
means that Eber's life was not split or divided in half by the birth of Peleg
since Eber lived 34 yrs. before Peleg was born and then lived another 430 years
after Peleg was born. However, it is interesting as you pointed out that
it is in verse Genesis 10:25 Peleg's name is mentioned along with the fact
that the earth was split apart into continents during the days of Peleg and some
believe that the Resurrection-Rapture may happen on 10/25 as
well.
