"IRIS Seismic Monitor - 30 Recent Earthquakes"
http://www.iris.edu/seismon/last30.html
Good
afternoon John and Doves: I just noticed on Foxnews.com that
there was a 6.9 EQ in the Gulf of California. I hadn't looked at
the latest EQ information in a week or so, so I decided to take a look
at the above site. What I saw immediately was the number of
EQ's with a depth km of 10.0 in the last 30 days-- 41 of them to be
exact. I've never paid any attention to this particular column
before, it was just something that caught my eye this time. As I
said there have been 41 10.0 depth km EQ's in the last 30
days all over the world, but quite a few in the Gulf of California area
alone. And 8 EQ's on 9-27-10 at this depth, which is alot for one
day. Does this mean anything? I'm no EQ scholar, but I'm puzzled
and think this is a little peculiar. Is something
significant taking place 10.0 km's below the surface of the earth or
are all of these just coincidences. Thoughts from any Doves who
are knowledgeable in the EQ field would be appreciated.
Lord bless!
