    The only thing that kept going through my mind when I read your letter was that both the rat and the rabbit are unclean animals....not meant to be eaten. This dream happened in your fathers house with your father present. This has to do with a family issue that your father was aware of and disapproved of. 

     I agree with Frank that this would have to do with spiritual issues and that you should ask the Lord to show you the specific things in your life that need to be killed and gotten rid of. Interesting thing about some sins, they look so harmless even pretty (rabbit) but have the same end result as the not so harmless looking (rat). Side note, the fleas on the rat cause the bubonic plague in the middle ages. In my own family, the "rat" was lust and the "rabbit" was books. My earliest memory was my Grandfather reading what my Grandmother called "those vulgar books". My mother did the same. What you grow up with, you tend to imitate. But you also tend to be blind to the dangers of it as well. After all, if the "rabbit" you're entertaining feeds the "rat" that you're not too happy to entertain, you have the makings of a problem not easily rooted out.

Put to death therefore your members which are on the earth sexual immorality, uncleanness, depraved passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry; 6for which things’ sake the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience. You also once walked in those, when you lived in them; but now you also put them all away anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth. Don’t lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings,… where there can’t be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondservant, freeman; but Christ is all, and in all.

Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; 13bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Col 3:5-9,11-13

      I'm sorry for the long letter, I normally don't write but The Lord wouldn't leave me alone until I shared the lesson I learned. I hope it helps and maybe gives you what you needed.

I read the letters everyday and it gives me great comfort and encouragement as we wait for the Lord Jesus to come and take us home.
