Amen Alan Clark! With regards to the "Timing of the Two Witnesses".Out of my studies, I have been puting together a theory about the "Half Hour of Silence" in Revelation 8, as I have never been satisfied with any commentary I have read on the subject. In the process of putting together my material, it dawned on me that the Seal Judgments are likely going to be released very quickly at the beginning of the Tribulation, with increasing and worsening consequences from those Judgments continuing through the Tribulation; continuing the pattern of birth pangs increasing and worsening.
As I point out on my "Revelation" webpage that I posted about the other day, there is much evidence pointing to the 2 witnesses' ministry covering the 2nd half of the Tribulation. What's more, their ministry ends with the last Trumpet Judgment.
I also point out the fact that the consequences from the Bowl Judgments will be so severe, that it is unlikley they will be spread out over the last half of the Tribulation, but poured out during the last few days; otherwise "no flesh would survive".
Anyway, what came out of my conclusions was a theory about the "Half Hour of Silence" in Revelation 8. If the Seals are released at the beginning of the Tribulation, but the Trumpets don't begin until towards the middle of the Tribulation, then there would be a 3 1/2 years period with zero Judgments released from heaven. In other words, the "half hour" would be half of the "hour of trial", in which there would be no Judgments poured out from heaven.
Here is the chart I constructed:

"Timing Of The Two Witnesses-"
I've seen the discussions about the timing of the Two Witnesses. The other day I was reading my back-up Bible a "New Living Testament" (See below) and it clearly states that they will will prophesy during those 1,260 days or 42 months that the Holy City will be trampled.
Then I pulled out a John MacArthur Study Bible he says they are given their power and are used "during the second half of the Tribulation".
In verse one John is told to "measure the Temple of God" so it seems that the Temple is standing when the Two Witnesses are introduced to us.
Revelation 11:1-3 The Two Witnesses
1 Then I was given a measuring stick, and I was told, "Go and measure the Temple of God and the altar, and count the number of worshipers. 2 But do not measure the outer courtyard, for it has been turned over to the nations. They will trample the holy city for 42 months. 3 And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will be clothed in sackcloth and will prophesy during those 1,260 days."
